14U Irvine Sting: Welcome

Welcome to the site of Irvine Sting '97, We are currently one of four teams in the Irvine Travel Softball Association (ITSA).  ITSA was founded over 18 years ago by Blair Ota, M.D., D.D.S. who is the head coach of the 18 Gold team. He, along with Coach Jim Knapp, are involved with the day to day training and operation of the Sting program which includes a 12u, 14U, 16U and an 18U (Gold-classified) team.

We are committed to preparing each and every player for success in softball and in life. Our goal is that every player will continue to play softball within our organization through 18 Gold and on into college.  Please check the Irvine Sting 18 Gold site to see the college commitments for our graduating players.

We practice at Col. Bill Barber Park in Irvine, one of the premier softball complexes in the country. We have batting cages adjacent to the fields. Numerous college exposure tournaments are held there along with recently hosting the inaugural ESPN RISE Premier Girls Fastpitch 2010 National Championships.  Both our 16U and 18 Gold teams participated in the PGF tournament.
