GAME NOTES: The Clinton Irish Blizzard travel to the Randolph Oilers on Friday night as the two teams kickoff the first game of the 2009 Eastern Football League schedule. Clinton and Randolph played 4 times last season including playoffs. The teams split the four games as each team won two of the 4 games. Clinton beat Randolph 20-6 in their 2008 home opener and defeated the Oilers 27-13 in the EFL semifinals. The Irish Blizzard’s wins were sandwiched around two one-point losses at Randolph (29-28 and 20-19). 

·         Clinton kicks off its 10^th season as an EFL Franchise on Friday night.

·         Clinton is 8-3 all-time vs. the Oilers; seven of the eleven games have been decided by a touchdown or less.  

·         The two teams first played in 2003 with Clinton winning 21-17.

·         Randolph’s three wins were all by a margin of 2 points or less.

·         This is the first time these teams have met to open a season.

·         Scott Allard rushed for 133 yards, Ernie Adams hauled in 2 TD catches from John Riccio, and the Clinton defense recorded 3 interceptions in a 20-6 week 2 win at Clinton.

·         Scott Allard rushed for 129 yards and Lorin Reed caught 2 touchdown passes from John Riccio in a 29-28 week 4 loss at Randolph.

·         Scott Allard rushed for 96 yards and 2 TDs, and Jim Learned caught a TD pass from John Riccio in a 20-19 loss at Randolph in week 9.

·        Ty Gamble rushed for 86 yards and 1 TD, Scott Allard had one rushing and receiving touchdown, and Jim Learned caught a TD pass from John Riccio in a 27-13 EFL Semifinal victory over Randolph.
