The Minor League Football News selected the following Clinton Irish Blizzard players as 2009 All-Americans...

2nd Team  - Cornerback 

RONNIE GUYTON (CB) – This rookie standout from Southern Connecticut State combined excellent cover skills with a great ability to tackle on the perimeter. In 10 regular season games at Cornerback, Guyton has recorded 3 interceptions and while adding a physical presence in the secondary. Guyton's overtime interception in the EFL Championship helped Clinton earn it's first EFL title. Guyton was also named Eastern Football League Defensive Rookie of the Year along with being named to the EFL All-Star team.

2nd Team  - Running Back 

TY GAMBLE (RB) – In 8 regular season games, Gamble has carried 95 times for 590 yards and 6 TDs while splitting carries with two other backs. Gamble’s big play ability is also evident on special teams as he has had a standout season as a kick returner including an 84 yard return vs. Quincy in week 8. Gamble was named to the 2009 EFL All-Star team.

2nd Team  - Defensive End 

LUIS RODRIGUEZ (DE) – 2009 was a breakout season for the 3^rd year defensive end. In 9 regular season games played, Rodriguez has notched a team leading 11 sacks. Rodriguez has logged 4 multi-sack games including two games where he had an astounding 3 sacks in each game. Rodriguez was also named to the 2009 EFL All-Star team.

2nd Team  - Guard 

JEFF LEARNED (OL) – A 3^rd year standout from Endicott College, Learned anchors a highly regarded offensive line that has rushed for 1636 yards and 20 touchdowns in 10 regular season games. Learned also possesses tremendous skills as a pass blocker. Learned was named to the 2009 EFL All-star team.

2nd Team  - Tight End 

ERNIE ADAMS (TE) - Coming off an All-American season in 2008, Adams continues to prove himself to one of the top tight ends in the region. A tremendous blocker from his tight end position, Adams also possesses the skills of a number 1 receiver. In 10 regular season games, Adams leads the team with 29 catches for 292 yards and 7 touchdowns. Adams was also named to the 2009 EFL All-Star team.

Congrats to the Irish Blizzard all-stars who were part of the 'North' team that won THE 2009 EFL all-star game.

Saturday, October 31st - Bridgewater, MA - The Eastern Football League capped off its 49th year of operation with the league all star game at the Bridgewater-Raynham HS, home of the EFL's own Bridgewater Gladiators. The event pitted the EFL North Division's best against the South and produced a great game resulting in a 13-7 victory for the North. In addition to a great day of football the event also raised $1,075 to donate to Autism Speaks.

Any new players, coaches, or personnel are invited to join us for the 2010 season. The Clinton Irish Blizzard have had a very successful TEN years as members of the Eastern Football League. The 2009 EFL champions continue to look for quality personnel who wish to be part of a winner. Clinton boasts a great football family in a great football town.
