Overtime Loss

For those who missed it.  Tonight was the single best football game I have seen in 5 years of coaching Pop Warner. We had to go to Syracuse and play the number 2 team out of the "North" division of CNY Pop Warner.  The North division is the toughest, most competitive division in CNY.  Cicero was last year's state champions and have a great shot at this years state championship too.  We played them to a 0-0 tie and lost in overtime.  The Defense played amazing. I am so proud of everyone on the team.  These are 23 of the toughest and classiest boys I have ever coached.  The Cicero Coach complimented our team repeatedly on how well discplined we played and our great sportsmanship.  Thank you all.

For those who have not heard, I have decided that I will not return as coach next year at Indian River.  I just wanted to thank everyone for a great 5 years and a lifetime of memories.  I can't wait to see you boys on the Varsity football field in the future.

Tough Loss, But a VERY GREAT GAME

I just wanted to let everyone know that even though we lost, that was THE best Super Bowl ever. You kids played hard from begining to end. Your hard work and dedication will serve you well, not only in football, but in anything you chose to do. That's exactly what football is about, teaching you team work and self discipline that will help you excel in school and work.

We will continue are season, by going to the Empire States Classic play offs. I will let everyone know the schedule as soon as I get it. Keep up the good work, the whole coaching staff is very, very proud of you players.

Great Game

Both the Warriors teams played great today.  It was a beautiful day for football and the Warriors came ready to play.  The Pee Wees dominated most of the game and came out with a 33-7 victory.  There is one more game in the regular season and then the play offs start.

I have been unable to take any pictures of the last two games.  Hopefully I can get some starting with the South Jeff game next week.  If anyone has pictures, feel free to upload them.

Very Tough Game

Well the Pee Wee's lost their first regular season game in 4 years to a very good Dexter Lions team.  Keep your head up boys,  we have 2 more regular season games and then the playoffs start.  We need to keep our focus.  I am very proud of the team for never giving up and playing to win.

ANOTHER GREAT WIN!!!!

Another outstanding day of football for the Indian River Pop Warner program.  Mitey Mites played thier best game yet and beat the A-Bay Stallions.  The Pee Wees played a great game and pulled out the win.  A-Bay is a much improved program and we look forward to playing them in years to come.  Don't forget about picture night and I have added some game pictures on the "Albums" link on the website.

Fantastic Scrimmage!!!!!

Well the scrimmage finally came and what a day.  Both sides of the ball looked great.  We have a couple of things to work on in practice this week, but that is what the scrimmage is for, to find out what is left to polish up on.  We scrimmaged 3 very good teams and it showed.  It will only make us better.  I have added some snap shots of the scrimmage day on the "Albums" page for everyone to look at.  Our first game will be against Lowville on Sunday the 9th of Sept.  Enjoy your Monday night off and make sure you sell your cups for the fundraiser.

Again, Great job by all the players and parents that helped out.  I am very proud of Indian River Football.

2007 Season to begin Monday the 30th of July
Another great football season is here again. I am very disappointed
that we are not having the Junior Pee Wee Football team. Although we
had the numbers, other organizations were unable to get the kids they
needed. I was looking forwarded to giving more opportunities for kids
to play football.

There will be a parents meeting Jul 29th at the practice field at 6 p.m.
We will also hand out helmets at this time also.
Practice begins JULY 30TH at 6 p.m.
