BAY CONFERENCE CHAMPIONS!!!!!!

The Eagles defended their Bay Conference Title last night against a very scrappy Bradenton Christian Panthers volleyball team.  The Eagles came out extremely flat and lost the first game 25-10.  After the 1st game, the Eagles regrouped and were able to win the next three games 25-19, 25-19, 25-19 to WIN their 2nd straight Bay Conference Championship!!!!

The team struggled all evening on serve-receive but was able to be very consistent in the Serving and Hitting categories to make-up for the lack of 1st ball control.  The team was led Defensively by Michelle Brown's 24 Digs and Offensively by Madi Loebel, Kindall Edwards, and Emiline Lazzeri who combined for 21 of the team's 35 Kills.

The win improves the team's overall record to 19-7 before entering the District Tournament on Tuesday against the Winner of Northside Christian / Shorecrest at 7pm.

Seniors ENJOY Senior Night Against St. Pete High!

The Eagles hosted St. Pete High this evening on Senior Night.  The team recognized Michelle Brown (#1), Natalie Feathers (#2), Amanda Manning (#3), Madi Loebel (#5), and Kindall Edwards (#12) before defeating St. Pete by the score of 25-18, 25-6, 25-14 to improve to 18-7 (5-0) Overall.

The team was led by offensively by Madi Loebel and Kindall Edwards who combined for 19 Kills and 4 Blocks.  Defensively, the team was anchored by Michelle Brown (12 Digs) and Amanda Manning (7 Digs).

Coach Foster and Kim would like to thank the 5 Seniors for their Dedication/Committment to IRCS volleyball and the team over the past 4-5 years.....THANK YOU and WE LOVE YOU!!!!!!

Eagles Stomp on TC early and Never Look Back

The Eagles defeated visiting Tampa Catholic this evening by the score of 25-9, 25-20, 25-11 to improve to 17-7 Overall on the season.  The team was led offensively by Madi Loebel and Emiline Lazzeri who combined for 19 of the team's 34 Kills.  Defensively, the team was led by Freshman, Marissa Brown, who tallied 14 Digs and her sister Michelle Brown, who recorded 13 Digs.

Up next for the Eagles is St. Pete High tomorrow evening for Senior Night at 7pm.

Madi Loebel Joins IRCS Volleyball 1000 Club & Sets School Record

Madi Loebel became the 2nd player in IRCS Volleyball School History to reach 1000 Kills during the Win against Calvary Christian this evening.  She joins Brianne Yeates (Class of 07) in this prestigious category.  Madi also set the SCHOOL RECORD tonight by recording 15 Kills against Calvary, which gave her 1009 Kills overall.

The Eagles defeated Calvary by the score of 25-14, 25-12, 25-11 and improved to 16-6 Overall.

Michelle Brown Joins IRCS Volleyball 1000 Club

Michelle Brown recorded her 1000th Career Dig for IRCS on Friday afternoon against Nationally ranked, Berkeley Prep.  

Michelle averaged 20 digs p/match this week for the Eagles recording 140 digs in the 7 matches where the team went 4-3 against some very tough competition.  Today, against P.K. Yonge (Gainesville), she recorded her Season and Career high 30 Digs.  Her Career total is now 1,090.

Eagles Defeat Northside Christian in Three!

The Eagles took care of business last night in three games against District/Bay Conference opponent, Northside Christian. 

The team jumped out to a great start by winning the first two games 25-7, 25-8.  In the third game, the team lost a little bit of focus in the back row allowing the Mustangs to go up 10-7 on them before scoring the next 8 points.  Once the team took the lead at 15-10, they never looked back finishing out the game behind the serving of Ashley Llerna 25-18.

The team was led defensively by Michelle Brown's 21 Digs.  Offensively, the team was led by Emiline Lazzeri (11), Madi Loebel (10), and Kindall Edwards (6)  27 Kills.

Up next for the Eagles is District opponent CCC on Thursday night at 6:15pm.  This match will determine the #1 seed for the District Tournament at the end of October.

Eagles FIGHT back to Win at Canterbury St. Pete!

The Eagles fought back this evening after a sluggish start in the 1st game and trailing 24-20 before digging in and winning 27-25 against Canterbury.  The Eagles never looked back leading the rest of the match and closing out the 2nd and 3rd games with a 25-20, 25-18 win to improve to 10-3 on the season.

The team was led offensively by Emilize Lazzeri who recorded her season/career high 18 Kills.  Emiline hit a .931 on 27/29 attempts with .621 Kill percentage.  Senior Libero, Michelle Brown, anchored the defense with 18 Digs alongside her sister, Marissa Brown, who recorded 14 Digs.  

Up next for the team is District opponent, St. Pete Catholic, on Thursday at 6:30 at IRCS.

Eagles defeat Cardinal Mooney on the Road

The Lady Eagles defeated Regional opponent, Cardinal Mooney, this evening by the score of 25-20, 28-26, 25-20. The team led at all times in the three games building leads of 13-3  (1st game) and 21-11 (2nd game) before finally finishing out the games after a very rough night of passing.  

The team was led offensively by Madi Loebel's 14 kills and 5 blocks.  Defensively, the team was anchored by Marissa Brown's 11 Digs.  

The win improved the team's overall record to 9-3.

Eagles Win District/Bay Conference Match-up Versus Shorecrest

The Lady Eagles defeated District/Bay Conference opponent, Shorecrest Prep, this evening by the score of 25-9, 25-8, 25-11.  The team was led offensively by Madi Loebel who recorded 13 Kills in the Win.  Defensively, the team was anchored by Michelle Brown's 13 Digs.  

The win improves the team's Overall record to 8-3, District (2-0), and Bay Conference (3-0).  Up next for the Eagles is Cardinal Mooney in Sarasota on Thursday at 6:00/7:00pm.

I would like to thank the team, parents, fans, student body, and Administration of Indian Rocks for the celebration given to Kim and I for our 200th Career win this evening at home.  It was GREATLY appreciated it!!!! Orlando High School Showcase Results

The Lady Eagles played some very good competition this weekend in the Premier Division of the Winter Park/Lake Highland Prep Showcase held at the Orlando Volleyball Academy.

The team avenged their loss from last year's Champhionship match against John Carroll Catholic (Ft. Pierce) by opening up their pool play with a win (26-24, 27-25).  Up next was the Defending State Champions in 2A, First Academy of Orlando.  TFA handed IRC their first loss of the season by jumping out to an early lead (17-25, 19-25).

Saturday morning was a slow start for the girls who let 5x Defending State Champion, Plant HS, jump out to a 20-10 lead before chipping away at the Panthers lead and taking the first game 30-28 and then the second game 25-23 to finish 2nd in Pool Play with a 2-1 Record.  The Win gave Coach Foster his 200th Career coaching victory!!!

In the Silver Bracket Semifinal, the team jumped out to a pretty strong start against Westminster Academy (Ft. Lauderdale) led by Madi Loebel's 11 Kills before dropping the match 22-25 (up 22-19), 21-25.  In the 7th Place match, the Eagles faced a very strong and "BIG" 8A Olympia HS (Orlando).  The team was once again led by Madi Loebel's 10 Kills but ended up losing a very hard fought match 21-25, 25-22, 12-15. The loss dropped the Eagles overall season record to 7-3 and an 8th Place Finish out of 16 teams.  

Up next for the Eagles is District/Bay Conference opponent, Shorecrest Prep on Tuesday at 6:30...Please come out and suppport your Lady Eagles this week.

Eagles Remain Undefeated!!!!

The Eagles won their First District Match and Second Bay Conference Match of the season tonight against TOWERING Calvary Christian by the score of 25-17, 25-22, 25-12 to improve to 4-0.  The team was really challenged by the height that Calvary has this year.  

Ashley Llerena created great 1 on 1 opportunities for her hitters by running a very fast offense and contributing 34 assists on the night.  Offensively, Emiline Lazzeri led the way with 14 Kills, Madi Loebel 10 Kills, and Kindall Edwards 8 Kills.   Defensively, the team was anchored by Emiline Lazzeri, Michelle Brown, and Marissa Brown who combined for 34 of the teams 57 Digs.

The Eagles won their Bay Conference opener against Seffner Christian tonight by the score of 25-17, 25-12, 25-13.  The win improved the team's overall record to 3-0 before heading to Calvary on Thursday night for their District opener and 2nd Bay Conference match.

Eagles Finish First Week of the 2011 Season Undefeated!

The Varsity volleyball team defeated Keswick Christian this evening by the score of 25-10, 25-11, 25-8 to improve their overall record to 2-0 on the young season.  The team was led offensively again by Senior Middle, Madi Loebel, who tallied 11 Kills and 7 blocks.  Defensively, the team was led by Libero, Michelle Brown, who recorded 10 digs and had a serve receive rating of 2.3  

Up next on the schedule for the Eagles is Bay Conference opponent, Seffner Christian, Tuesday evening at 6:30 @ Indian Rocks....GO EAGLES!!!!!

Eagles Win Season Opener Against Lakewood HS (Bay News 9 Article)

The Varsity volleyball team began their 2011 Season with a dominating victory over Lakewood HS this evening. The team won the highly anticipated match-up 25-13, 25-21, 25-15.  The team was led offensively by Madi Loebel and Emiline Lazzeri who each recorded 12 Kills.  Setter, Ashley Llerena, recorded 30 Assists after fighting an illness all day long at school.

Defensively, the team was led by Emiline, Michelle Brown and Marissa Brown who each recorded 15 digs on the evening. Amanda Manning came off the bench to contribute with 10 digs in games 2 and 3. 

The team will host Keswick Christian Friday night at 6:30 following the JH and JV matches.

Eagles Finish Their Pre-Season Undefeated!!!

The Lady Eagles finished their Pre-Season 2-0 this past week defeating Durant HS 25-21, 25-22, 25-23 on Tuesday and Steinbrenner HS 27-25, 28-26, 25-21 on Thursday.

The team was led offensively by Madi Loebel who recorded 20 kills during the two matches, Emiline Lazzeri's 16 kills, and Kindall Edwards 12 Kills.  Defensively, the team was anchored by the Brown Sisters, Michelle and Marissa, who combined for a total of 61 of the teams 106 digs during the Pre-Season matches.  Ashley Llerena recorded 55 Assists during the Pre-Season.  

The team played some very BIG and TOUGH teams during the Pre-Season which challenged them right away to get ready for their Home Opener against Powerful Lakewood HS this coming Thursday @ 7pm.

We hope to see you in the stands this year cheering on the Eagles as the team looks to have a VERY exciting and tough season.....GO EAGLES!!!!!!!
