Buffalo Soldier
Guys, good luck tomorrow, I would love to be there alongside you, especially in that game! Alas I have to work but will be at the next to cheer you on. Here is a poem by Rudyard Kipling (no not him with the cakes Muff!). Something to think about before the game.
If you can keep your head when all about you
Are losing theirs and blaming it on you,
If you can trust yourself when all men doubt you
But make allowance for their doubting too,
If you can wait and not be tired by waiting,
Or being lied about, don't deal in lies,
Or being hated, don't give way to hating,
And yet don't look too good, nor talk too wise:
If you can dream--and not make dreams your master,
If you can think--and not make thoughts your aim;
If you can meet with Triumph and Disaster
And treat those two impostors just the same;
If you can bear to hear the truth you've spoken
Twisted by knaves to make a trap for fools,
Or watch the things you gave your life to, broken,
And stoop and build 'em up with worn-out tools:
If you can make one heap of all your winnings
And risk it all on one turn of pitch-and-toss,
And lose, and start again at your beginnings
And never breath a word about your loss;
If you can force your heart and nerve and sinew
To serve your turn long after they are gone,
And so hold on when there is nothing in you
Except the Will which says to them: "Hold on!"
If you can talk with crowds and keep your virtue,
Or walk with kings--nor lose the common touch,
If neither foes nor loving friends can hurt you;
If all men count with you, but none too much,
If you can fill the unforgiving minute
With sixty seconds' worth of distance run,
Yours is the Earth and everything that's in it,
And--which is more--you'll be a Man, my son!

Enough banter, news on this years trip (nothing finalised yet of course) As H and Babes go to their rugby league thing in Manchester every year, we've looked at changing the original plan.
The new look trip COULD be; Fly to Florida Thursday 18th October, college game on Saturday is....Miami Hurricanes @ FSU in Tallahassee, Sunday spent watching NFL somewhere - Miami are at home but that's 550 miles south. Monday Night football in Jacksonville on the east coast, 2 and a half hours drive. Come home Tuesday or Wednesday. Rather than a long drive south to Miami, then another long drive back north to Jacksonville, this idea would mean less to fork out on hire cars and more leisure time in the FLA sunshine.
If anyone has any ideas please come forward as nothing has been confirmed, anybody interested? Be good to take a larger contingent this year!! |

Good authority??? That's the same source that told you one of your punt snaps bobbled along the ground before it reached him isn't it H? You know, the one where the snap was perfect and your "source" plain dropped it?
As I said before, either ask Mr V Z or watch the film - they don't call me Noddy for nothing you know! |

Adam 'SCRAPS' Vander Zanden has been feeding off of my dominant defensive line play over the last 2 games, however, I have it on good authority (Babes) that it was a simple mishandle of the NFL calibre snap, by the holder. Fortunatley for you old timer!, it didn't have a bearing on the end result.
