Parents/Players,

As Mike said, great practice last night.  It was very encouraging to see so many players at practice. Here are a few things we stressed:

Use both feet. Players need to get used to using their opposite foot.  Especially in practice, the boys need to work hard at using their non-favorite foot.

Bend your toe when shooting. If the ball sails on you, most likely your toes were not bent. Bending your toe and hitting the ball with your laces will almost always result in a good shot.

Juggle, juggle, juggle. At home, juggle. When you first get to practice, juggle. In your spare time, juggle. The more you juggle, the more touches you have on the ball and your control will improve.

Be supportive of teammates.  We all make mistakes, but we should not criticize each other for those mistakes. Another way is to say – leave the coaching to the coaches.

Be on time and bring a ball.

Overall, very good practice and we saw a lot of positive things that we can build on. Thanks to all for working hard and see you Friday.

Coach Mike
