Indy Storm AAU Basketball: About The Storm

2012 5th Grade AAU National Champs!!!

Indy Storm was established in 2008 by a man with a vision to help under privilege children with extraordinary athletic abilities and opportunity to compete at the highest level.  This organization gives kids the tool to learn how to work hard to achieve their goals.  We provide kids from 1st Grade to High School a chance to better themselves by building their self esteem, leadership skills, communication, academics, sportsmanship, and life skills.  We make it our point to emphasize the need to respect others and oneself, to be disciplined and focused, to weather their storms to achieve their goals not only on the court but off the court, and to make a difference in the community.  The Indy Storm organization is adamant about teaching children the importance of setting goals, working hard to achieve those goals.  We instill in the kids that they are student athletes meaning that they are students before they are athletes and their outcome in life is decided on the decisions they make and the goals they set.

Since the creation in 2008, the organization has grown from a team of 8 young men to nearly 100 kids on several teams.  Our organization is made up of 65% African American, 35% Caucasian, 10% Other, and 100% Family.  These kids are not only noticed nationally but locally for their efforts on and off the court.  A large percentage of our athletes have achieved high academic honors along with perfect attendance.

Indy Storm is a 501 c(3) nonprofit organization and a big part of our program depends on the generosity of the community. We work to make an investment toward the future of our kids.
