Indiana Bandits Baseball Club (9U-17U): History

The Bandit Saga
In March, 1996, Harold Gibson decided in order for the boys of the area to receive the proper instruction in baseball and life, he would have to form a travel team. This team and, consequently club, would adhere to a higher standard both on and off the field. Thus, Indiana Bandits baseball was born.
From one team in 1996, another was added the next year and work was begun on two diamonds on the north side of Greenfield.
Two more teams were added in 1998, and this year the Bandits field teams from 9 to 17 years old.
In September 1998, a third, senior league sized, diamond was begun and the fourth is now under way.
Future plans include adding a girls fast pitch softball program, adding boys teams to include ages 8 to 18 years and more diamonds to round out the complex.
The Bandits Baseball club was formed in 1996 to train and showcase boys who have the desire to play competitive baseball. Training is done throughout the year by experienced and committed coaches. Tournaments, which showcase the boys individual talents, are visted by college coaches and pro scouts from across the nation.
The Indiana Bandits baseball club was formed with the belief that competitive, properly taught baseball can play a major role in the mental, physical and spiritual growth of boys and girls.
We hold the belief that all good things are from God and that our baseball can and should be a powerful witness to that belief. This club has been blessed from the start with good people, parents and players who work hard to spread the Good News through baseball.
The scripture "To whom much is given, much is expected" is taken seriously in each members' realization that the privilege of playing in such an environment must be conveyed in each game and on every road trip.
Bandits Baseball is all about the best game in the and the desire to instill a love for the game, a respect for the game, and a desire to play the game correctly into every Bandit!
