THIS WEBSITE WILL  BE UPDATED PERIODICALLY.  MORE RESENT UPDATES WILL BE POSTED AT OUR NEW WEBSITE ...

The Bandits Baseball Club is in its 16th year of providing training for players ages 8 to 18.  In addition, the Bandits Baseball Club is sponsoring the following travel teams for 2013:  8u, 9u, 10u, 11u, 12u, 13u, 14u, 16u, 17u, & 20u.  Bandits's teams are not about winning at all cost, but rather see the "big picture" of  a player's career.  The Bandits stress fundamentals, knowledge and playing the game the right way.  We're here to assist the player with achieving his goals, whether it be playing high school baseball, college baseball, or possibly beyond.  The Bandits' program has produced scores of good high school players and almost as many college players in the past 17 years.  Feel free to browse our site and contact us if you should have any questions.

Former Bandit College Commitments For 2011

The Bandits would like to congradulate the following former Bandit players and wish them good luck in their future endevors at the next level ...

  • Jared Ruxer (Lawrence Central) ... University of Louisville
  • Brady Thomas (New Palestine) ... University of Indianapolis
  • Logan Blair (Mt. Vernon - Fortville) ... Wright State University
  • Ty Simpson (Heritage Hills) ... Vincennes University
  • Spencer Sapp (Jasper) ... Indiana University
  • Levi Pollert (Columbus North) ... University of St. Francis
  • Steve Jurgens (Richmond) ... Earlham College
  • Garrett York (New Castle) ... Earlham College

All of these players have played either at least a year with the Bandits on either a summer or fall team for Coach Fenimore.

Coach Fenimore's comments on each player:

Jared Ruxer - "I saw early on that Jared was an exceptional pitcher (age 13).  There was just something about his mound presense that set him apart from others.  Although he was only a Bandit for one year, we stayed in touch the past few years and he spot pitched for us on our fall teams.  He's an exceptional young man that comes from a good family, despite his dad being from Jasper,  and has really worked hard off the diamond to make himself a great pitcher.  I'm very proud of him and his accomplishments on and off the field.  He was drafted by Cleveland this spring and he'll have a tough choice to make on college or a pro career, but he's well suited for either in my opinion."

Brady Thomas - "Brady played for us 2 years at 16 and 17 and was playing "up" an age group.  A very solid defender and a tough out at the plate.  A quiet young man, but hard worker.  Very dependable and consistent player.  I was fortunate to have him on our teams, summer and fall.  He's another great young man from a good family and I know he'll have success at University of Indianapolis."

Logan Blair - "Logan played for the Bandits as a younger player and more recently with our past 2 fall teams.  A hardnosed player who can play multiple positions and swings with power to the opposite side.  Logan will be a preferred walk on at Wright State and work at the catching position.  Logan comes from a good family and is another exceptional young man that I'm glad to have been around."

Ty Simpson - "Ty came to us in the fall of 2009 and played for our fall team.  He struggled some at the plate, but dominated on the mound.  He played spottingly for us in the fall of 2010, pitching, catching and playing some 3B.  A great athlete coming from another good family.  Traveling 3 hours plus to play with us showed his dedication and determination to play at the next level.  I know he's struggled with what position to play in college, but rumors I've heard is that they're going to put him behind the plate.  Whatever position he ends up at, he'll do well.  He's worked hard these past 2 years defensively and offensively and improved in both areas.  Coach Barney has a great ball player coming to Vincennes this fall."

Spencer Sapp - "Spencer came along with Ty in the fall of 2009 to play for our fall team.  There are  few good things that come out of Jasper, Spencer is one of them.  Like all of the young men above, he comes from a exceptional family.  Spencer pitched Jasper to a 3A State Championship in 2010, but was unable to play in 2011 after having "Tommy John" surgery on his elbow.  Another great athlete that could play multiple positions, but found his calling pitching.  In speaking (rather texting) with Spencer this spring, he told me that Indiana University is honoring their scholarship commitment to play baseball even after hearing of the arm injury.  He'll come back better than every and will pitch well for the Hoosiers in 2012."

Levi Pollert - "Levi was one of our fall baseball team members in 2009.  A hardnosed middle infielder/outfielder, he played both well.  A good player with lots of upside as he enjoys playing the game.  He'll take that enthusiasm north to play at University of St. Francis in Fort Wayne this fall.  I know'll do well."

Steve Jurgens - "Steve played for the 17u 2009 Bandit team as a pitcher and did quite well.  He had a great outing at the Perfect Game WWBA tournament in Georgia that summer and several others.  He's a competitor on the hill and plays well in the outfield as well - we used him there a few times as well.  Steve is a great young man that comes from a good family.  He'll do an excellent job in his home town playing for Coach Sakosits and the Quakers at Earlham College."

Garrett York - "Garrett played for Coach Mills the past few years and also on our fall team last year.  He's an excellent young man with a great work ethic.  He excells in the classroom as well.  The New Castle lefty worked hard the past couple of off seasons to improve his pitching and it paid off.  He throws strikes.  Coach Sakosits got an outstanding young man and ball player in Garrett.  We're excited for him."

Good Luck to all of these young men in their colligiate careers both academically and athletically.

2010 Bandits Class Update

The 2010 class of Indiana Bandits is gone, but not forgotten.  Several from our 2010 class have moved onto the next level and are continuing their education and playing careers in college.  Coach Fenimore has been in contact with them and is providing us with the following update:

  • Clint Chestnut (Pike Central HS) - Vincennes University ... Clint will be pitching and playing 1B and outfield for the Blazers this coming spring.  Clint had an outstanding fall season and Coach Barney is looking forward to using him alot this spring.
  • Pete Stuart (Brown County HS) - Vincennes University ... Pete will also be pitching for the Blazers next spring.  He's working himself back into pitching form this fall after having minor surgery.  Coach Barney likes what he sees out of Pete.
  • Andrew Tople (New Palestine HS) - Ohio Northern University ... Andrew is greatful for the opportunity to play in college as well as persue his education at ONU.  He'll be doing some relief pitching and playing the outfield for the Polar Bears and Coach Bergman.  As well as keeping the dugout loose during the game.
  • Chris Rea (Cambridge City Lincoln HS) - Indiana Univ. Southeast ... Chris will be working into the pitching rotation for Coach Reel and the Grenadiers.
  • Trey Thurston (Madison HS) - Franklin College ... Trey has completed his first college football season for the HCAC Champion Grizzlies and will be working hard to break into the outfield this coming spring for Coach Marshall.  Watch out for those Engineers though according to Coach Fenimore!
  • Jordan Hoeing (Rushville HS) - IPFW ... Jordan is getting bigger and stronger according to Coach Fenimore.  Lots of waffles with peanut butter ... (he's rooming with Caleb).  Jordan will be working into one of the middle infield positions for Coach Pierce and the Mastodons this coming spring.
  • Caleb Fenimore (Rushville HS) - IPFW ... Caleb, like Jordan, is getting bigger and stronger (but still can't whip his dad yet).  Caleb will be working into playing time behind the plate for the Mastodons and my even be a relief pitcher in lopsided games.

Good Luck to all of the 2010 class of Indiana Bandits.  We're proud of you and all you've acomplished.  Just remember, you never know who's watching ... we will be!
