Indians heading to the Regions
Indians enter Regional Wrestling Tournament with four top seeds - by Horace Blankenship - 2/18/2009
Berkeley Springs High School enters the West Virginia Class AA Region II Wrestling Tournament, which begins at 4 p.m. this Friday, February 20, in Keyser, as one of the favorites to win the team title.
The Indians have four wrestlers seeded first in their respective weight classes, two others that are seeded second, one seeded third and two with fourth seeds.
Loguen McKee (112), Brad Reed (130), Damen Capper (140) and Hobert Delph (285) are the top seeds in their respective weight classes. Derek Hovermale (125) and Tory Bennett (160) are second seeds. Cohen Hovermale is seeded third at 103, while Richard Marshall and Zac Risinger are seeded fourth at 135 and 145, respectively.
Grafton also has four wrestlers with top seeds, while both Braxton County and Frankfort have two top-seeded wrestlers.
The top four wrestlers in each weight class will advance to the Class AA State Tournament the following week in Huntington.
Keyser, Braxton County and Grafton should give Berkeley Springs the stiffest competition for the team title.

ADMISSION: Students: $5.00 per session

AWARDS: Team - first and second place
Individual awards for first thru sixth places for each weight class.
