2006 Ikaika Basketball - End of Season Dinner - OUTBACK STEAKHOUSE

What a wonderful event to end the 4 month season!!!   Through 92 competitive games (boys and girls), through 38 boys practices, and through 27 girls practices, all 34 players have made some remarkable improvement from the first day of the season.  Your hard work, dedication, and commitment have proved that you want to play basketball, and you all have shown that with 4 off island tournament trips – Kauai 17U boys, Kauai 14U girls, Maui Summer Classic for 14U girls, and Jets/Jetts Tournament for 8th grade girls and 11th grade boys.  All the sweat that you laid out on the court has proved a great reason to end the season with a Team Dinner at Hawaii Kai Outback Steakhouse, and we are all appreciative to thank Hawaii Kai Outback Steakhouse as one of major sponsors to this Club.

As we end 2005-2006 season, I hope everybody enjoyed themselves at the Team Dinner, we look into the 2006-2007 season with our main goal – play with our hearts, passion, desire, and determination.

2003 Ikaika Potluck on November 1, 2003 by Aunty Brenda
The ever so famous Ikaika Potluck was held on November 1st at Waialae Ridgeline Recreational Center. All were invited however due to other obligations, we had a cozy gathering of ever so faithful Ikaika families.

Thank you to the Higa’s, Kamehiro’s, Kauka’s (even with Jay Sr. abandoned at home), Miyahira’s, Mizoguchi’s, Jonah, Coach Clay and of course the Wongies… it was so nice to be able to relax, sit and chat… It seemed to be such a long time since we last saw eachother! Time was spent challenging each other in ping pong, football, basketball, swimming and chasing each other around. Having the kids swim (yea, big kid Coach Clay too!) before dinner, gave the adults the much needed time to get caught up with the “latest”. Naturally the potluck ended up a feast to be remembered! Always too much food but I believe we enjoyed it again the next day.

After dinner, Coach Clay delivered his big news! Yes.. he’s going on a honeymoon before he gets married!!!! For those of you who heard otherwise..… you may need to check the credibility of your resource. Who is his bride to be? None other than ….... Ikaika Basketball! I am happy to report that the lovely couple’s honeymoon itinerary will include a minimum of 3 off island basketball tournaments in 2004.

Following the BIG NEWS, many drove back down the windy path… perhaps feeling a little more tipsy then when they arrived… but I’m sure fat, happy and content…   Till our next get together… be safe and Happy Holidays!

Ikaika Basketball End of NJB All Net Season
With all the hard work and determination that these boys and girl have given during the All Net NJB Season for the 14's Division and 17's Division, Ikaika Team celebrated the terrific season with a dinner at Tony Romas.

No matter if one team had a dismal season or the other had a great season, every player on the team had learned something valuable that will carry them to the next level of competition, regardless with or without Coach Clay.

With Coach's congratulations to all the players and until the next season, work hard and play smart.

Come and see some wonderful pictures at the dinner.
