Irving Girls Softball League: Awards Given by IGSL

Perks for Playing in IGSL
IGSL will pay entry fees for Metros and National Tournaments and possible traveling money.
IGSL teams pay only half the entry fee for Irving Tournaments.
ASA TOURNAMENTS ONLY, ONLY IF FUNDS ARE AVAILABLE.

Coach of the Year
The board select's whom ever they feel has done an outstanding job of coaching that year.

Galbraith Award
In 1977, the Irving Umpire's Association created an award to be presented to a team in IGSL, Inc. bearing the title "Gailbrath Award" who best displays outstanding sportsmanship playing the game of softball. (see more details and past winners under awards)

IGSL Award
Each year IGSL, Inc recognizes an individual who has made a significant contribution to the League. This can be through their service as a coach, manager, board member, active member in League functions or any individual who works to improve this League. (see past winners under awards)

Mitchell Award
This award is to honor a senior player who is a superb athlete and exemplifies good sportsmanship. (See details and past winners on awards)

Sally Holland Scholarship Award
Scholarships are awarded to graduating seniors who have played in IGSL, Inc. for a minimum of five consecutive years. (see more details and past winners under awards)

Team Sportsmanship Award
This award is voted on by the Team Managers and turned into their Division Rep's on their last game of season, they select teams who best displays outstanding sportsmanship playing the game of softball.

Sportmanship Award
This award is picked by each teams coach , they select one player from their team who they feel has earned the award. (8&up)

Trophies Awarded
1st Place, 2nd Place, Individual Trophies
6u each player receives a trophy

Batting Awards
Depends on the number of teams for each division. If there are 4 teams or less there will be top 10 Ribbons only. If there are 5 or more teams  the top 20 batting averages are awarded from each age division. Winner receives trophy (8&up)

RBI Awards
The top 5 players from each age division who has the most runs batted in receive a medallion and the winner receives a trophy.


Homerun Award
This award is given to the player who has hit the most homeruns for her age division.

Pitching Award
The top 5 pitchers who have the most strikeouts from their age division will receive medallions and the winner receives a trophy. (10u & up)

Stolen Base Award
The top 5 players who have the most earned stolen bases from their age division will receive medallions and the winner receives a trophy. (10u & up )

Awards for 23u ONLY
1st Place 2nd Place and 3rd Place trophies

Batting:
Batting Average’s = top 10 recognized award top3
RBI’S = top 10 recognized award top 3
Homeruns = top 5 recognized award top 3
Defense (Pitcher):
        Strikeouts = top 2 recognized award top
        Most Wins = top 2 recognized award top
        Lowest ERA = award top only
