Sally Holland Scholarship Award

At the time of Sally's death in an automobile accident, a scholarship fund was established to honor her memory.
Scholarships are awarded to graduating seniors who have played in IGSL, Inc. for a minimum of five consecutive years.
Since the first scholarships were given in 1987, over 40 scholarships have been given, including those being given this year, for a total of more than $36,400.00

Gailbraith Award
In 1976 the Irving Girls Softball League lost one of the dearest friends and strongest supporters our sport has been fortunate enough to have.
In 1977, the Irving Umpire's Association created an award to be presented to a team in IGSL, Inc. bearing the title "Gailbrath Award" who best displays outstanding sportsmanship playing the game of softball. This beautiful trophy is located in the Irving Sports Hall of Fame and each year the team winning the trophy has their name inscribed on the plaque.

Mitchell Award
The Richard Mitchell Award was started in 1979 to honor Richard Mitchell who was a long time coach in IGSL. Mr. Mitchell suffered a fatal heart attack in 1979. The award was changed to the Mitchell Award in memoriam to also honor Gaylon Mitchell who passed away in 1996. Gaylon served as Tournament Director, coached and umpired in the IGSL. Gaylon was a long time supporter of the IGSL and will be greatly missed. This award is to honor a senior player who is a superb athlete and exemplifies good sportsmanship.

IGSL Award
Each year IGSL, Inc recognizes an individual who has made a significant contribution to the League. This can be through their service as a coach, manager, board member, active member in League functions or any individual who works to improve this League.
This year's award is presented to Becky Kelly she is currently a Board member, and a Scorekeeper, Becky is always willing to help where needed she's a wonderful person and a wonderful asset to the IGSL. Thanks for a job well done.

Dave Sawyer Award
This year 2004, We had a very close friend and a supporter of Irving Girls Softball pass away, Dave Sawyer. Sawyers has been a supported of IGSL for many years. This year we created a special award for a Senior who show's outstanding sportmanship and supports the IGSL. This year winners is ALLISON MCBRIDE.
