CASE STUDY #10

Develop a pre-season training camp calendar and curriculum for players ages 18 to 22 years of age (level will be college).
- Camp will be four weeks in length.
- First week no classes scheduled, next three weeks players will be be in class from 8:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. Must take one day off every seventh day. Students arrive on campus September 17, 1995.
- No exhibition games, season will begin with a conference weekend series. Season game schedule begins Friday, October 13, 1995.
- No J.V. Team......50 players trying out.
- Areas to Consider:
- Team meetings
- On-Ice practices and practice objectives
- Off-Ice programs and objectives
- Any testing programs (psychological and/or physical)
- Scrimmages, inter squad games
- Schedule for teaching systems
- Any special activities (team building, individual meetings, team party, etc....)
- Procedure for making team selections
- Introduction of team play concept
- Position specific practices
