Indiana Christian Basketball Alliance: Welcome

To follow-up on an email we sent prior to the season, here is the latest on the state tournament that will take place over two weekends (February 24 & 25 [North Regions] & 25 [South Regions] + March 3 [Boys Final Four & Girls Championship]).

1.       GENERAL INFORMATION - ICBA VARSITY STATE 2012

We are revising the ICBA Sweet 16 format a bit to include all teams who register in an effort to reduce travel time & costs for most teams. There will be two sites: one north (Life Church [the old Bluffton High School] 428 South Oak Street, Bluffton, IN  46714) on Friday February 24 & Saturday February 25 one south (The Gathering Place 1495 West Main Street, Greenwood, IN 46142) on Saturday February 25. Each will host between 8-10 boys teams (split into Northeast, Northwest, South, & Central Regions) and 3-4 girls teams each (split into North & South Regions). The entire tournament will still be seeded from top to bottom and the best 5 teams will have the opportunity to travel to another site if it helps them preserve a better seed. The boys’ tournament will have four teams remaining after that initial weekend and the girls’ two teams.

2.       North & South 3-pt/FT champs will also be crowned at each site.

3.       The Boys Final Four & Girls Championship will take place on March 3, 2011 also in Bluffton. There will not be a boys or girls consolation game that day. Medals will be handed out to regional champions and regional runners-up. Trophies will go to regional champions, state runner-ups, and state champions for boys & girls.

4.       Cost for the boys & girls varsity state tournaments will be $150 for a guaranteed two games. That amount will go toward the awards as well as the regional and state hosts.

The following teams include who we know are competing this year, though being listed below doesn’t mean we have received registration for this year’s state tournament. To verify that you are registered or to download documents, please visit the ICBA website. If you know of other teams not listed, please reply with their names & contact info.

BOYS North: Benton Bucks, Ft. Wayne Guard, Ft. Wayne Hawks, Huntington Eagles, Kokomo Eagles, Michiana Mustangs, Noble-Whitley Warriors, WACHE Warriors

BOYS South: Eastside Golden Eagles, Indianapolis Wildcats, Laurel Christian Rams, Living Water Marlins, Noblesville Lions, North Eastwood Christian Lions, Northwest Warriors, Southeast Panthers, Tippecanoe Tornados, Wabash Valley Warriors

GIRLS North: Cornerstone Warriors, Ft. Wayne Hurricanes, Huntington Lady Eagles, MCAC Wildcats, WACHE Lady Warriors

GIRLS South: Indianapolis Trailblazers, Living Water Marlins, Tippecanoe Tornados

Again, one or two of the teams listed above may shift to another region in order to protect a better seed that the team earned.
