Ambis Skate Sharpening at Phil's Skate Shop
The commitment to professional skate sharpening at Ambis is continuing. Phil's brother Ed has reorganized the business at its existing location on Willow Ave. next to The Haunt. The shop is staffed part-time by four people who are quite good at sharpening skates and take pride in their work. That's the only explanation, as they are all volunteers. The new name of the business is Phil's Skate Shop.
Sharpening, skate repairs, blade replacements, skate boot baking (yes they have an oven). They also have a supply of tape, laces, screws and helmet pieces.
Shop Hours:
Monday - on call 342-6538
Tuesday and Thursday 4:00-7:00 PM
Saturday 8:00-10:00 AM
Emergencies - call 342-6538 and someone will arrange to meet you.
When the shop is closed, skate drop-off and pick-up can be made at Instant Replay Sports (on 3rd St. and the lobby of The Rink).
Because of the volunteer nature of the small staff, there may be times when the shop cannot be open. You can call at 273-2326 during their posted hours to check if they are open.
