Golden Rules
The “Golden Rules”
Hampton Youth Lacrosse Club
Expectations of Players
Player will attend all practices
§ If they cannot attend they should notify their coach before practice with the reason for the absence.
§ Players who do not practice will see a loss of playing time at the discretion of the coach.
Players will take full advantage of practice time
§ Players will be dressed and ready to go at start of practice.
§ No one sits during practice unless being addressed by a coach.
§ Practice at game speed to be prepared for game conditions
§ No fooling around. Practice organized skills when not in a session with a coach.
Players will always practice good sportsmanship.
§ We want to encourage our teammates at all times.
§ We do not want to disparage or humiliate our opponents.
§ We will not use profanity.
Players will show appropriate respect for their coaches
§ Insubordination with respect to coaches will not be tolerated.
§ Coaches are the final authority on discipline for all the above practice and game issues.
Players will not use tobacco, alcohol or drugs when such conduct can be associated in any way with the Hampton Youth Lacrosse Club.
The Hampton Youth Lacrosse Club cannot condone the use of these products by minors in any form at any time. Their use by any player on the team is counter-productive to the goals and principals of this program. However, each parent has to take the responsibility for how they deal with their child on these issues. The coaches and the Association will only get involved in disciplinary actions involving tobacco, alcohol or drugs to the extent that the action reflects negatively on the program. Such situations might include use of the prohibited substances on a lacrosse trip, use at a team function, use while wearing a Hampton Lacrosse shirt or jacket.
