Minor White Sox Win a Tight Contest Against Bolingbrook
Saturday was a real learning experience for our young team. When we saw our opponents we didn't know what was in store for us, as they averaged at least 6-8 inches and 40-50 pounds bigger than us. Once the game finally started and we settled in our pitching, base stealing, and timely hitting kept us in the game, and we started to realize that not only could we play with them, but we could beat them. We finally pulled out a victory in extra innings 12-11. Some outstanding hitting from Quinn McDaniel and Jacob Huizenga produced the go ahead runs in the 7th inning. Every player contributed to the effort with stolen bases and sacrificing runners ahead. Our pitching staff did a great job by getting key strikeouts in crucial situations, despite the fact that most, if not all of them, had never pitched in a game before. I have never seen a team more excited than when Quinn tagged out the tying runner at third for the last out. Well done White Sox!
