Succesful Teams
Othello has been very succesful in fast pitch softball, having gone to state all 7 years that they have participated in fast pitch. The team is proud of their past and present records.
Othello has placed every year but the first year they went to state. They have placed 3rd, 4th, 1st, 2nd,and 1st in that order.
Othello once again has a fine team with lots of experience. They are still very young with most of their team being sophomores and juniors.
One reason Othello has been so good is they have a great summer progam. Most of the girls stay with one team instead of hopping around to other teams. Another reason has been their pitching which is usually some of the best in state.
Five Huskies Gain All-Area Picks
Five Huskie softball players have made the All-Area team, they were Patty Martinez, Cynthia Ochoa, Jenny McCourtie, Krista Hafer, and Veronica Rodriguez. Patty Martinez was also picked as the Most Valuable Player of the year. Patty made it as a pitcher with a .68 ERA and 15-2 win loss record. She also had 6HR 9doubles and .494 BA. Cynthia Ochoa recieved top honors as an outfielder being a unanomous pick. She batted .500, had 24-26 stolen bases, 9 doubles,1 triple, 37 runs and 28 RBI's.
Jenny McCourtie was picked as an infielder played 3rd base during the season. Her stats are .460 BA, 30 RBI's, 26-26 stolen bases, and 38 runs. Krista Hafer was selected as a catcher she batted .333, .543 on base%, scored 27 runs, and had 7 doubles. Veronica Rodriguez Hit .440, had 18-19 stolen bases, 16 runs, and 22 hits.
The girls will begin their summer season soon. Most of the high school team will be playing this summer for the Lady Bashers.
Adrianna Gonzalez will be playing in the All-State game in Wenatchee on the 16th of June.
CWAC All-League
WE put 9 girls on the all-league team. Patty Martinez,pitcher Krista Hafer,catcher Cheryl Booth, Jenny McCourtie, infielders Cynthia Ochoa, Heather Hafer outfielders, Veronica Rodriguez,utility player, all are 1st team. To the second team goes Adrianna Gonzalez infielder, Ester Campos catcher. We are very proud of these girls. Saturday is senior day please come and support our girls.
Othello Places 8 on CWAC All-League Team
Five girls gained CWAC All-League 1st Team honors they are; Patty Martinez pitcher, Jenny McCourtie short stop, Cynthia Ochoa outfield, Krista Hafer catcher, Ester Campos utility player. 2nd team honors went to Heather Hafer outfield, Vicky Garza infield, Shawna Juarez infielder. Emily Medina was named honorable mention. Great Job Ladies!!!
All-Area Picks Anounced
Patty Martinez, Jenny McCourtie, Cynthia Ochoa and Krista Hafer have all been named to the All-Area team. Patty Martinez as a pitcher, Jenny McCourtie as an infielder, Cynthia Ochoa as an outfielder, and Krista Hafer as catcher.
Patty Martinez was named Most Valuable Player of the Year for the second year in a row.
All-Area covers; Central Washington, South Eastern Washington, and North Eastern Oregon.
Five Othello Players Do Well At All-State Game
Cynthia Ochoa and Patty Martinez each earned Most Valuable Player awards at the all-state game in Wenatchee, Patty was named the Offensive Most Valuable Player and Cynthia was named the Defensive Most Valuable Player. Krista Hafer was named to the all-star team. Jenny McCourtie and Heather Hafer also participated in the games. The East Team won both games defeating the West All Stars 4-1, 4-3.

All-State Teams Announced
The Washington All-State teams have been announced and five of the Huskies have made the teams. Nina Gonzalez made top honors by being named All-State Player of the Year, this is the 3rd time this year for her as she was CWAC, All-Area and now All-State Player of the Year!!
1st team players are Nina Gonzalez pitcher, and Alexis Montemayor outfielder, 2nd team honors go to Erica Wheeler catcher, Michelle Wheeler infielder, and Kylee Mollotte outfielder. Rudy Ochoa has been named All-State Coach of the Year. Congratulations to all of you!!
