STATE CHAMPIONS

WE ARE STATE CHAMPIONS!!!  The Lady Huskies played four tough games in order to win the championship. Nina Gonzalez threw a 1 hit, 12k, 1-0, against Cedarcrest in the first game. The game was not determined until the bottom of the 7th inning when Erica Wheeler got on with a base hit to right field was then replaced with pinch runner Breanna Montemayor, who scored from 2nd on a base hit by Eden Garza to left field,  sliding under the tag at home.  The second game against River Ridge was 4-0.  The Huskies scored two in the 3rd inning and two in the 7th.  BiBi Villegas blasted a 2run homer over the left field fence.  Nina pitched a 3hit 14k game.  The 1-0 game against Centralia was just as exciting as the first game with the winning run coming in the top of the 7th inning.  Michelle Wheeler walked, BiBi singled, Oly sacrificed them over one base each and with two outs Eden Garza singled to score Michelle.   The Championship game against Burlington Edison had scoring in the first three innings.  Kylee Mollotte scored in the 1st after walking then being drove in by Nina.  Nina scored in the 2nd on a double by Michelle.  In the 3rd Oly Lopez scored on a double by Eden Garza.  That was all the scoring the Huskies needed, winning 3-0 for the championship.  The Lady Huskies finish the season with a 26-1 record.
