Huntington Park High football is a tradition of guts and glory that extends beyond understanding. It is in our blood, our families, our heritage. It is a mindset of never giving up and always expecting victory. It is memories of dirt, tackles, runs, passes, and friendships that players never forget. It is a trust among men that is never broken and never taken for granted. It is a fellowship of few.
It is called a game but it is so much more. It breathes its own life and teaches life's lessons to players, fans, and coaches. It requires a commitment from all to succeed in victory. It requires a character of men that is never tarnished to reach the highest goals. It requires class to achieve the goals and continue on with respect and honor.
The Mission of Huntington Park Football
The primary role of the Huntington Park High School Football Program is to be a co-curricular experience for every young man that participates. We believe the lessons learned through a well directed football program may be as valuable as those learned in academic settings. Hopefully, these lessons teach our youngsters how to be more successful in other areas of their lives. Our emphasis is on getting a great effort from our players, and we will teach our players that we are all capable of giving a great effort no matter what our physical and mental abilities are.
Our mission is to take the student-athlete where he can not take himself. As coaches, we will be supportive and active in promoting academic and athletic achievement. We will exhibit an exemplary foundation of leadership and mentor our players to relentlessly pursue the "habits of a champion". The foundation of these habits is a positive attitude in practice and games, towards teammates, coaches, officials and opponents.
Our staff is pleased to have the privilege of working with today's youth. We are thankful to the parents who entrust us with their son(s), and we recognize the huge responsibility we have. Accordingly, our goal is to develop your son as a football player and as a responsible young person in the safest, most effective way possible.
The Huntington Park Football Program will stress that the process is more important than the result. That process is based on the principals of diligent preparation, hard work and doing one?s best. When these three are developed you will be a winner, no matter what.
Finally, this football program depends on the effort of parents for its success. All parents can do something to help, and this is all we ask. The work each parent puts in will benefit numerous individuals now and in the future. We all are investing in tomorrow's leaders and families. We believe this is a great thing to do.
