2009-2010 Club Year
1) There will normally be twelve (12) tournaments year.
2) Tournaments are for members only and their guests, except for a family member. No guest shall fish more than one tournament with the same club member, per year. A Guest may only fish two tournaments a year without joining Humble Bass Club
3) There shall be a minimum of two draw tournaments per year. Definition: Draw Tournament A tournament at which all participants must submit their names to a draw for a partner for that tournament. Names must submitted and partners drawn at the regular meeting preceding the date of the tournament. Draw partnerers must fish from the same boat. Exceptions can be made at the discretion of the president and/or executive committee members present at the launch site.
4) Any member of the Humble Bass Club under the age of 16 may fish with their parent during a draw tournament as long as the parent is a member of Humble Bass Club. Tjhey must notify the Tournament Director prior to the draw that they will be fishing together. The HBC member under 16 is allowed to be in the draw, understanding that he/she is treated as any other member, meaning they make arrangements with their partner on meeting them and half the cost of the trip, etc. The boater will not in any way be responsible for the minor. If a member does not feel comfortable fishing with the minor, an HBC Officer may switch partners, but HBC does not recommend this. This is a great way for these kids to learn different things about fishing.
5) The order of voting for a tournament lake shall be lake first, and then vote on duration of tournaments of One (1) day or more, after the lake is determined.
6) Fishing shall be with Rod, Reel, and artificial bait only.
7) Only one rod may be fished at a time.
8) No Trolling will be permitted. Trolling is defined as “Trailing a bait by any means of power other than the wind or trolling motor”.
9) When fishing two or more per boat, fish must be kept separate, or separated by marking.
10) Fish weighed and counted toward awards must be at least fourteen (14) inches in length and a maximum of Five (5) fish per day will be allowed. All fish must be weighed by a member in good standing during tournament hours, on the designated lake and weighed on the club scales or those approved by the executive committee.
• WITH THE FOLLOWING EXCEPTIONS:
A Paper tournament or Lake Rules as determined by Texas Parks and Wildlife. Night tournaments Night tournaments considered as a One (1) day tournament with a five (5) fish limit.
11) Placing a fish on ice is permitted, but no frozen fish will be accepted. Additionally, no “spoiled” fish will be accepted. Spoiled fish are determined by gills starting to turn while and bloating. Penalty for short fish will be the weight of the member’s biggest fish of the day. In the event that the weight of the biggest fish is inadvertently not taken, the penalty shall be the averages of the weight of the stringer, i.e., divide total weight of stringer by number of remaining fish (not counting the short fish). Any fish ruled dead by the tournament director shall have a deduction of .25 lb (1/4 lb) taken per dead fish. The penalty shall then be subtracted from the total weight of the stringer.
12) Trailering is permitted at the discretion of the tournament director/committee. Destination, TX Number, and Towing Vehicle Plate must be shown on the sign out sheet. THIS WILL BE ENFORCED. Those fishermen wishing to trailer may leave the designated ramp site with the Tournament Director’s permission at safe light:
13) All participants in club tournaments must check in and out from the designated Marina or launching site each tournament day. The designated fishing time is: Safe Light until 4 PM on Saturday; Safe Light until 1PM on Sunday
14) Guides shall not be used on the scheduled lake for fourteen (14) days prior to the tournament. Member guides are not eligible to compete in club tournaments on their home lake.
15) A Tournament Director/Committee shall consist of the executive committee (officers) present at each club tournament. Any deviation from the tournament rules must be approved by the TDC. The Tournament Director/Committee shall have the final say.
16) Club members must be checked in at the specified tournament ending time and place or be disqualified; the member who is late will be penalized 1lb per minute up to 15 minutes. After 15 minutes late of the ending time that day the member will be disqualified.
17) A member may give his fish to another member for transportation to the weigh-in. This action must be approved by the TDC and (if approved) will be the only fish weighed in for the absent member for that day. This is to be an emergency measure due to boat trouble, illness, etc.
18) The tournament lake will be selected one (1) month in advance. Should circumstances prevent the tournament from being held on the scheduled date as determined by the tournament direction committee, the tournament for that month will be cancelled.
19) A fish become the property of Humble Bass Club with the exception of a fish declared a trophy by the member who caught it.
20) Humble Bass Club is not obligated to fish any tournaments other than the monthly humble bass club tournament.
21) Each month’s tournament is to establish monthly standings and the running for the Top Six.
Humble Bass Club will assist the Top 6 Entry to the State Federation Tournament accordingly:
o Provide $ 3000 Maximum, which includes:
o Paid Entry Fee; o Paid member rooms
o Provide a $100 Gift to the Federation in HBC’s name; Balance to be divided among the Top 6 to cover expenses.
o HBC will keep $500 in the bank account and any additional money that is in the club account will be paid out at the December club tournament. All contestants at this tournament will receive some percentage of the funds to be determined based on number of participants.
• There is a weekend pot for each tournament, not paid out of the club treasury. Entry is Optional.
• The Pot is $20 with payout as follows:
• 50% for 1st Place
• 25% for 2nd Place
• 25% for Big Bass
• The Tournament Director is in charge of the pot.
22) The Humble Bass Club shall pay for all necessary permits/fees required to fish on permit/fee lakes selected by the membership for a club tournament.
