WELCOME TO HISTORIC HUFFMAN ROEBUCK PARK

If you are new to our park and our program, let use give you a bit of history. Huffman Park is the oldest privately own park in the state of Alabama. It was established in 1939 and incorporated in 1952 as a community based Non-Profit Organization for whites only. In the early 90's, Huffman Park went through a transition and is now 99.5% Black. During this period we have won several District, Regional, State, and World Series titles. We are very proud of our accomplishments. However, we are striving to become the most successfully diverse park in the nation. We are currently aggressively recruiting girls, Hispanics, and Whites.

We are an organization of volunteers. There are no paid positions on the Huffman Recreation Board, Huffman Youth Baseball, or Huffman Raider Football. Our park programs, equipment, and facilities are all maintained through program registration fees, grants and donations. Capital improvements can only be realize through the generosity of civic minded individuals and companies who dig deep and give generously that the children of Birmingham have a top notch facility.
