HUDSON VALLEY KNIGHTS AYF CHANGE NAME TO HUDSON VALLEY ADMIRALS
LaGrange, November 14, 2008 – The Hudson Valley Knights American Youth Football & Cheer announced effective immediately that it has changed its name to the Hudson Valley Admirals. The new name draws from the organizations close relationship to the Arlington School District, where a majority of its players attend. "The name change to the Hudson Valley Admirals from the Hudson Valley Knights builds an even stronger tie to our local community", says Ray Wilson, President, Hudson Valley Admirals. "This past season, we focused on getting our entire organization to use the same plays, cheers, and terminology that is taught at the high school level by football and cheerleading coaches. Now with the name change, we have taken another step to show our commitment to get our football players and cheerleaders ready for the high school program and beyond."
About the Hudson Valley Admirals: The Hudson Valley Admirals Football and Cheer, originally established in 1970 as the Hudson Valley Knights, is for boys and girls, in grades K-8 (minimum age 5, maximum age 14 as of 7/31), who wish to participate in a competitive sport in a safe and fun environment.
