Brick City Little League Huber Heights: 2012Season Divisions
Competitive
This division that players enter into, is the first full competitive season they will experience.
Regular season standings with a league tournament at the end of the season.
An All-Star Tournament team will be selected, that will compete in the LL Ohio District 8 Tournament. Know as the district team.
These players will be evaluated and drafted to a team for one season only these teams disburse at the end of each season.
The evaluations is so that player talent can be equal on all teams.
We still work on the fundamentals of the game to teach every child the correct way to play the game.
Most of the kids will be 8 or 9 we will have some above average 7 year old's play this division. We also have 10 year old's if they have never played any kind of baseball, not drafted to a major team or medically necessary.
This is still a rec league it is all about the kids learning and having fun. They practice at least one night a week pre-season. Practices are held at Cloud Park, Manita,or Shullgate. For the season they will have at least one game thru the week sometimes two games and one game on Saturday. Games are played at Cloud Park Complex located on Brandt Pike across from Krogers. We also play at times on Monita Field that is on Fishburg Rd. Between Harshmanville and Tomberg.
All Practices and Games start at 6:30 thru the week.
T-Ball
Non-Competitive
This division introduces baseball to these youngsters in their first years of play.
It's all about teaching the fundamentals of baseball. Score keeping is prohibited. This division is for 4 and 5 year olds. 6 yr old's only if NO Exp. or medically necessary.
These teams practice either on Mon-Wed or Tues-Thurs depending on the team. Games will be played the same way. The games are played at Cottonwood on Fishburg.
All Practices and Games on Week nights start at 6:30.
Coach Pitch
Non-Competitive First half of the season (for season ending tournaments score will be kept) Score keeping is prohibited during the regular season.
This division introduces the player to hitting pitches. This division is for 6 and 7 yr old's we also have 8 yr old's if they have only played 1 year of T-Ball or never played. All 8 year old's with exp. will move to minors
The player's coach pitches to their own team. This gives the player a better opportunity to get the bat on the ball, as their coach can adjust the speed of the pitch.
It is still all about teaching the fundamentals at this level.
The second half of the season the teams get their first experience of competitive baseball, in a tournament where scores count. This has been one of the fastest growing division' over the past several seasons!
These teams practice one or two night a week pre-season at Titus school on Taylorsville Rd.
During season games are played one night a week and one on Saturday. Games are played at Cloud Park Complex on Brandt or Titus.
All Practices and Games thru the week start at 6:30.
Majors
This is the most recognizable division in all of Little League, due to the annual coverage of the Little League World Series on ABC & ESPN networks.
The ultimate goal for players in this division is to travel the road to Williamsport Pa. Even with this being the goal it is still all about the kids learning and having fun.!!!!!
These players will go thru an evaluation and then drafted to a team once they are drafted to a major team they will stay with the same team of players until the age of 18. All 12 year olds play 50/70 diamonds where it is 50ft pitching 70 ft base path.
The majors practice at least one night pre-season. Practices are held at Cloud park or Monita field on Fishburg Rd. These teams will be traveling and playing against other teams in our district. They will have at least one game thru the week sometimes more and sometimes two games on Saturdays. Home Games are played at the Cloud Park Complex located on Brandt Pike across the street from Krogers. Or Monita field on Fishburg. All Games and practice start at 6:30 thru the week.
Junior/Senior/Big
These are the teams that continue on from major teams.
These teams are a part of the major division it is just divided in age groups.
These teams play teams from other communities in our district such as Enon, Englewood, Moraine West Carrollton, Hardscrabble, Etc. The HHLL encourages players in this division to sign up early as teams will be formed early due to scheduling with other leagues. Even if you are playing on a school team you can play in this division when school ball is over but you have to be signed up in order to hold your spot on the team. These teams practice at Tom Cloud Park on Hart Field previously known as diamond 1. This is also where all home games are played. This division also ends with tournament teams that go on the road to a World Series. With the partnership between Little League Baseball,Inc and Baseball Factory that have teams that are shown on ESPN, this division is becoming fast growing.
