Highland Park Tennis Association: about us

Highland Park Tennis Association (HPTA) is an all volunteer organization founded in October 2004 with the purpose of creating and fostering a safe, friendly environment for playing tennis.  Our mission is to introduce the sport of tennis to the members of our community, with particular focus on our youth population.  We would like them to enjoy the recreational, social and health benefits of this wonderful sport. With our strategic programming and special events, we hope to boost community development and improve the quality of life for those participating in our programs. To this end, we are looking forward to promoting the awareness and growth of tennis in our community.

HPTA is a member organization of the United States Tennis Association (USTA) and a chapter of the National Junior Tennis League (NJTL).  We work closely with NYC Department of Parks and Recreation, City Parks Foundation and Partnership for Parks maintain a high level of tennis activity in Highland Park. In addition, we are forging relationships with local businesses and other agencies such as the 12 Towns YMCA and The Arlington Library, among others to implement our programs.

We encourage anyone who can contribute positively to our group’s mission to join us, regardless of race, color, ethnicity, gender, age, physical abilities, socio-economic background or skill level.
