Status of Airbase Construction Activities
April 19, 2007 - The six fields next to the baseball fields have been seeded. With decent weather, the grass should take off. More earth work will be done as soon as the flat tire on the tractor is fixed and the PCM dozer is available.
April 3, 2007 - The airbase fields are looking better every time I go to the facility. Everything that needed to be disked has now been disked. The first six fields and the parking lot adjacent to the baseball fields is ready for seeding. The remainder of the fields will probably be ready to seed within a week or so, depending on the weather. Former HTSA board member, Robert Perez, is definitely on a mission to get this facility up and running.
For the more adventuresome of our HTSA members who want to see a more detailed map of the facilities, feel free to download the Airbase Fields.pdf file; it's only 25+ megabytes! Don't get excited when you don't see any small fields; we are still working on the location and layout of these fields.
If you would like to personally visit the fields, the Coil Street gate is normally open. Please view them from the road only; we don't want any ruts caused by curious people wanting to drive on the fields.
