: Meet Our Coaches
Mike Day - Head CoachMarried to former Kelli Diane Christian, Asst Principal at Panter Elem. He has 2 daughters, Makenzie (13) and Ginnabeth (9). Makenzie is a 7th grader at Moses Middle & Ginnabeth is a 3rd grader at Panter Elem. Coach Day currently teaches Algebra in the Mathematics department at Hiram HS.
He graduated in 1981 from Miami East HS, Troy, Ohio &
attended Oklahoma State University from 1981-1985 & 1986-1988 graduating from OSU in 1988 (Math Educ). He attended Kent State University from 1990-1992 and graduated with a Masters in Sports Administration.
He was selected by the Montreal Expos in the 13th round of the 1985 baseball draft. After playing three years of minor league baseball, he broke his left arm twice ending his career.
He was selected to the College World Series 50th Anniversary All-Time Team as catcher (1995) and to the Oklahoma State University Baseball Hall of Fame (1996).

Ryan Smith - Assistant Coach
Ryan is in his third year of coaching at Hiram High School. He was born in Des Moine, Iowa. He is in his second year of college where he is a History major, Education minor. He graduated from Hiram High School in 2004 where he played baseball and basketball.
