Welcome to Horizon Little League!  Home of 2008 District 3, 10-11 All Star Champions!

Each year Horizon strives to bring our Community a quality baseball program everyone can be proud of.  As a charter of Little League Baseball out of Williamsport, PA we follow all guidelines, rules and direction given by Little League Baseball headquarters.  Little League is the largest organized youth sports program in the world and each charter is run by volunteers from its community.  Our Board is proud to be associated with this upstanding organization and hope you as players, parents and volunteers will do your part in knowing, following and setting examples of:

v     Little League Official Regulations and Playing Rules (available on Little League website, www.littleleague.org)

v     Parent Code of Conduct (must be signed by one family member who represents the entire family and friends of their player, available on both websites)

v     Parent Pledge (available on both websites)

v     Player Pledge (available on both websites)

Together with our exemplary leadership we will be serving the interest of those who participate and fulfilling the “Little League “ mission by developing players with qualities of good citizenship, discipline, teamwork and physical well being while promoting virtues of character, courage and loyalty.

2009 Majors Tournament of Champions

Come out and support our league!!!

The Diamondbacks beat the Cactus LL Firebirds Wednesday, 6 to 5 in a very exciting game. Both Maleko Boyd and Justin Wines had home runs!

Facing last years TOC champions from Shadow Mountain LL on Thursday, it was a close game early on with the score tied 1-1 in the first, then 3-3 in the second. Our DBacks were threatening with bases loaded when SMLL put in another good pitcher and held off the DBacks to win 9 to 3. In the end, the SMLL bats were too good at finding the gaps and won a hard fought game.

The Majors Diamondbacks, managed by Stu Wines, represented HLL in the District 3 TOC at Reach 11, June 15-20th. Bracket is posted below. Click on the headline to go to District 3 website for details.

THANK YOU DBACKS FOR A GREAT RUN!!!

New bat regulations from Little League International

NOTE - NEW BAT REGULATIONS

JUNIORS - Beginning with the 2009 season, baseball bats with a diameter of 2-5/8 (two-and-five-eighths) inches are now the standard for all teenage baseball divisions (Junior, Senior and Big League). Baseball bats with a diameter of 2-3/4 (two-and-three-fourths) inches are no longer permitted for use in the Junior League Division of Baseball. Previously, these bats could be used in Juniors, but not in Senior or Big League. Please click on the link for detailed information.

MAJORS AND BELOW - In effect for the 2009 season is the requirement that all non-wood bats used in Little League Baseball (Majors) Divisions and below shall be printed with a BPF (Bat Performance Factor) of 1.15 or less. This stipulation has been included in the Official Rules and Regulations for the past few years, leading up to 2009, so that leagues, parents, and bat manufacturers could prepare for it. Most non-wood bats manufactured over the past several years for the age groups involved in Little League Baseball (Majors) and below have been permanently imprinted with the BPF. In fact, very few bats sold today with a diameter of 2-1/4 (two and one-quarter) inches are not printed with the BPF rating. So, starting with the 2009 season, bats printed with a BPF higher than 1.15, or without a BPF printed (or not legible) on the bat, are not permitted in these divisions.
