Hollis-Brookline Game
The Hawks opened their 2009 season with a 11-4 loss to defending state champions Hollis Brookline. The game was tied at 4 at halftime due to the best intensity that I have seen by a Hopkinton team. Brooks Wood opened the scoring followed by goals by Zak Jantzen, Travis Kuster, and Billy French. However, the Hawks couldn't keep up the intensity in the second half and gave up 7 goals. There were lots of positives--Cody Stordahl played well in and out of the goal. Our defense played tough and did a good job of sliding. Our riding and clearing were good. The problems were basic things such as shooting that we will work on to correct.
