History of The Hoosier Hoops Basketball Club
Hoosier Hoops was created in early 2006 with a single team in the class of 2011. Co-founders Nathaniel Wills and Tom Konechnik wanted to build a club with a mission to provide a summer basketball opportunity to players in the area which fostered fundamentals and good team play. The team practiced 2 to 3 times a week during the summer of 2006 and competed in 11 tournaments in Indiana during the summer. By the
end of the summer Hoosier Hoops 2011 was an I.B.A. Indiana Regional Champion and finished as a runner-up in the 2006 Memorial Day Classic at the Bloomington Sportsplex.

Following the end of the summer season, Hoosier Hoops decided to expand to other age groups and apply for non-profit organization status. In the 2007 spring and summer season The Hoosier Hoops Basketball Club fielded teams for boys in grade 4 through 9. The club is based out of Danville, Indiana, but some of our teams are based out of other sites surrounding Indianapolis. Over 2007, we worked hard to get our name out in the community as the premiere summer basketball club providing players the opportunity to improve fundamentally for their school seasons. In 2007, Hoosier Hoops was very fortunate to bring on many experienced coaches such as Cindy Wills, Tim Randle, Darron Dancler, Sherri Woods and Amy Elliott.

In 2008, Hoosier Hoops fielded teams for boys in grades 4 to 10 and continued to follow is original mission. Hoosier Hoops 2010 announced in March 2008 that they had been recognized as one of the elite teams in the state of Indiana by being selected to be affiliated with Spiece Gym Rats becoming Spiece Hoosier Hoops 2010. We were also very blessed to announce the addition of volunteer coaches Jeff Stone, JD Douglas, and Don Robinson for the 2008 summer season.   Team notes on tournament results are listed below.

For 2009, Hoosier Hoops is looking to expand even more. Any boy in grades 3rd to 11th grades will be eligible to tryout for a Hoosier Hoops team. Hoosier Hoops will now include young men in the classes of 2018 to 2010. Most teams will hold tryouts during the month of January and seasons will begin following that grade's end of the school season. For more information regarding this, please see the FAQ's, Coaching Staff, Results for Hoosier Hoops Teams, and Parent Comments tabs on this website as well as the section devoted to tryout dates and information for 2009.

If you are interested in getting involved as a player, please fill out the information form on the main page of this website.
