Welcome to Homewood Heat Basketball Club, Inc. - a competitive basketball club serving girls in Central and North Central Alabama. We are excited about the begining of the 2014 season, as it marks our organization's fifth anniversary. The Heat will provide an avenue for our players to continue to develop their basketball skills through competitive play opportunities and qualified coaching.

The Homewood Heat will organize teams by grade level based on AAU age divisions. Teams will be organized in compliance with Alabama High School Athletic Association (AHSAA) rules to maintain the athletes high school eligibility. We anticipate having opportunities for girls from 4th- 11th grade. Teams will be formed following the players school season, and tournament play will begin in March and continue through the month of May, based on the needs and desires of each teams' parents and players.

Finally, as we enter our fifth year, we have formed another organization to provide an opportunity for the elite basketball player to experience regional travel to some of the best known exposure tournaments in the region.  The Alabama Heat Elite will form a very competitive team at the 8th grade level this year that will be coached by veteran Heat coach Stephen Ward.  Additional information about Alabama Heat Elite can be found in a news article that will appear on this site as well as by visiting their soon to be launched website.

We are looking forward to our best season yet!  If you have questions about the Heat or playing opportunities, please contact me.
