Welcome to Homewood Youth Girls Softball!
The Homewood Youth Girls Softball (HYGS) wants the best for their players. Our objectives are to build strong character and self-esteem, emphasizing honesty and integrity, while teaching the fundamentals of softball. Our teams strive to improve all the players’ skills and instill good sportsmanship values. A strong organization with invaluable volunteers, make our teams a competitive team every time they hit the fields. Our main goals are to promote leadership, sportsmanship, maintain and enhance the value and self-esteem, and physical fitness of each participant. HYGS also strives to promote and encourage, in the community, equal access in regard to participation and leadership opportunities for participants in softball. We learn the importance of teamwork, ambition and fitness through activities that include softball tournaments, friendly games and team practices which bring together girls from different areas and cultural groups. Tournament competition at the highest level encourages players to test their competitive skills and at the same time meet girls that hold similar interests.
"Ten average kids playing as a team will always beat ten stars playing as individuals."
If it rains during the day or has been raining for a while, you can get up to the minute rain-out information by clicking on the "WEATHER" section of this web site. As soon as a decision has been made to cancel games or practices, it will be posted on this web site!
