- How does online registration help my league?

- How does online registration handle birth and residency validation?
- Online Registration is a great way to sign up returning players where you have already verified birth and residency documentation. As your league must still make arrangements to view or collect proof of birth and residency from ALL players – whether they registered online or in person, you may ask for these materials to be provided to you at an in-house registration session, at tryouts, at another league event, or by mail.
For those that have not been verified or are new to your league, you can use the built in Online Registration Waiver form to inform parents who are signing up their players, that a verification of birth records and residency must still be completed. For example, by inserting a waiver that states: “Your registration will automatically be conditionally approved. By accepting this waiver, you agree present a valid birth certificate and proof of residency for your child on (date). If you fail to provide the proper documentation, your child will not be able to participate in Hometown Little League.

- Are there fees to our league to set up online registration?
- NO! There are no set up fees, no bank charges, no merchant accounts and no monthly fees to set up online registration for your league.
There is, however, a small fee for each credit card registration. This processing fee is based on a sliding scale and can be structured several ways to meet your registration needs.
You may pass on these fees to your online registrants, or you may choose to have your league absorb these fees and make an appropriate adjustment to your base fees.
The recommended method is to simply "build" the processing fee into your league’s base fee to register so all the participants pay the same amount regardless of whether they register online or by paper. Active will automatically deduct our convenience fees from our payments to your league. If you modify your registration fee to "build-in" our processing fee, most leagues find that their online registration numbers normally increase.
An alternate method is to position the processing fee as an additional charge to your registration fee. This way, the person registering sees a charge for your regular registration fee as well as our processing fee. Your league still receives the full amount of your registration fee without any deductions.
If you choose to pass on these fees to the actual registrants, each league member can decide whether or not to register online and pay these fees or to register in person at an upcoming in-house registration event. These fees are clearly communicated during the registration process, and the registrant may choose to cancel the registration prior to submitting his/her credit card information.

- By adding a question that makes the selection of a volunteer committee an optional or mandatory item on your online registration form, you’ll be able to quickly and easily compile names and email addresses of potential volunteers for your league.
- Can I generate additional revenues for our league from other programs, like fundraising, with online registration?
- YES, in many ways! In addition to collecting player registration fees, LLB online registration, offers you a number of additional ways to produce league revenues. Here are a just a few popular idea:
Include fees for “player” fundraising items – collecting fees upfront ensures profitability for your league fundraising program.
Sign-up league members for other league events – if your league conducts a golf tournament, comedy or social night, dance, or year-end banquet, you can begin signing-up people now and collecting fees as part of your league’s online registration process
Sell league items such as sweatshirts, t-shirts, caps, pins, etc. - provide every online registrant with an opportunity to purchase an item from your league.

- Does Online Registration replace all aspects of our own registration days?
- NO! Online Registration is the perfect complement to your existing registration process and is ideal for returning players.
At a minimum, Online Registration is simply a more efficient way for a league to collect player and volunteer data and fees, expand the time window for players to register, increase league cash flow, and save time for your volunteers and league members.
Your league may choose to require ALL registrants (online or not) to attend an ‘in-house’ registration session, in order to recruit volunteers, pass out fundraising materials, or validate birth and residency. At your option, you also can ask all ‘online’ registrants to print out and sign a copy of their completed online form and bring with them to one of your ‘in-house’ registration sessions. Because your online registrants will already have filled out their forms electronically and paid for league fees, they can be fast-tracked through your ‘in-house’ session … saving time for everybody, with less time standing in line! You can even use your Online Registration site to notify registrants of upcoming ‘in-house’ sessions!

- How do I set up official Online Registration for our league or tournament?
