THE 2010 HPC HALL OF FAME BANQUET WILL BE HELD ON SUNDAY, JANUARY 31st AT WESTWOOD COUNTRY CLUB IN VIENNA.

We are unable to refund any payment so please plan on attending.  We have to make the number commitment to WCC in advance which makes refunds impossible.

Welcome to HOME PLATE of the Washington D.C. Home Plate Club web-site. The Home Plate Club is a non-profit organization. In 1951, a group of amateur, semi-pro, and professional players and front office personnel organized the Home Plate Club. The Club was originally chartered under the laws of the District of Columbia as a charitable, non-profit organization in 1955.

Notable HPC members and banquet guests over the years, include Clark Griffith, George Will, Joe Cronin, Shirley Povich, Syd Thrift, Tim Kurkjian, Cookie Lavagetto, Lou Fonseca, Elrod Hendricks, Jim Busby, Claude Osteen, Dick Bosman, Eddie Brinkman, Sam Rice and Lefty Gomez.   

HPC ORIGINAL MISSION STATEMENT (1951)
It's objectives and purpose are to promote the interest of baseball amongst the youth in the Washington D.C. metropolitan area, in an effort to discourage delinquency; to aid and contribute to worthy charities to the extent of its financial ability; to perform charities and assistance to its members in need and to provide help to non-members in need, when possible.

The HPC has continued to promote the game of baseball by honoring local baseball teams, players, coaches and volunteers each winter at the HPC Annual Awards Banquet. In 2006, we celebrated our 50th Anniversary Banquet. We expect another sellout crowd of 325+ people again this year!

We also have held the HPC High School All-Star Game and provided other services throughout the Washington DC metropolitan area.
