It is that time of year again and we are beginning our registration for Summer Softball today! We plan to have at least 4 teams in the league – U10 (4th and 5th graders and 3rd graders if we are able to), U12, U14 and U17 – make sure to review the age eligibility on the registration form. All forms need to be completed and returned to 40 Holly Lane prior to Wednesday the 13th. Please download the registration form here. Any registration forms received after the 13th will be placed on a wait list.

Twin Valley Girls Softball League (TVGSL): The purpose of the league shall be to establish and perpetuate a recreational softball league for girls. The organization is affiliated with the Amateur Softball Association (ASA). All players, without exception, shall be 17 or under as of dates of eligibility as established by the Amateur Softball Association (ASA). The league is a recreational league that consists of town based teams from 29 towns located within the Twin Valley area. In the 2008 season we fielded nearly 100 teams with well over 1,000 softball players. We offer four different age groups including U10, U12, U14 and U17 and we also offer an A and B option in all age groups except U17. All players must have been age eligible or younger for their designated age group on January 1st of 2009. All teams will be required to submit a roster prior to the start of the season that will include players name, age and uniform number. Players can “play up” within their town teams to field teams, address player absences and ensure scheduled games are played. No players are ever authorized to play down with a younger age group. The mission of the league is to attempt to provide an opportunity for any player to play softball during the season and participate in a recreational league setting.

The Season: The season begins on June 22nd and will be completed on July 31st. The league sponsors an All-Star game on Friday, July 11th and each team will provide the designated number of players to field the necessary All-Star Teams. The play-offs will for U12, U14 and U17 will begin immediately following the final regular season game on July 17th and will be completed by July 27th.
