2014-2015 Elementary & Middle School Dance

For the seventh year in a row Holland Township Recreation is proud to once again team up with the West Ottawa High School Dance program in offering Elementary & Middle Dance for the 2014-20145 school year. This program is open to individuals in grades 1st-8th. This year we will once again be lead by West Ottawa Varsity Dance coach, Rachael Backensto.  We look forward to a new year with this great program.

In these programs participants will learn dance technique and choreography in the same style as the West Ottawa High School Competitive Dance team.  Teams will learn a Jazz and Pom routine as well as a couple of other fun dances.  They will also perform at various events including 2-3 dance invitationals, a select number of middle school and high school basketball games, march in the holiday parade, and perform the annual Holland Township Recreation Daddy/Daughter in February of 2015.

We will have a Parent & Participant Informational meeting on Tuesday, October 14, beginning at 7:15pm at Macatawa Bay Middle School in the cafeteria where we will review the upcoming season.

Practices will be on Tuesdays and Thursdays for an hour and a half somewhere between the hours of 6pm-8pm beginning October 16 at Macatawa Bay Middle School.  The fee is $150.00 and includes uniforms, shoes, and entry fees.  The fee goes up to $155.00 after October 8.  For more informationa call Holland Township Recreation at 616-395-0178.

Thank You to Ally Whalen, Rachel Backensto, and West Ottawa's Dance Team

The program has come to a close and it was another outstanding season.  Thank you to West Ottawa Varsity Dance Coach Rachel Backensto, Ally Whalen, and the members of the West Ottawa Dance team who worked with our Elementary teams.  Your efforts, knowledge, and guidance were simply amazing and this program continues to soar to new heights because of it.  We cannot wait to get started for the 2015-2016 school year.  Again...thank you to the coaches, the participants, and the parents for making this season so special!
