The 2014 Season is just about here...although the weather doesn't really showcase that!  Still, Holland Township and the City of Holland are truly excited about the upcoming season.  For 2014 several changes to the overall local league picture for Slow Pitch Softball in the Holland area have been made.  The most important change is our new and complete partnership with the City of Holland which affects our local league and tournament options.  For all of our local league information, please contact Jeremy Myers at 616-355-1136 or e-mail him at J.Myers@cityofholland.com.  For tournament information, please contact Darrin Duistermars at 616-395-0178 ext. 1 or e-mail him at darrind@hct.holland.mi.us.  For more details on league and tournament play, see information listed below...



Wednesday, April 16
Class D, E, & F Qualifiers on April 19



All tournaments have been drawn and schedules posted.  As long as the weather holds out we should be good to.  Make sure you click the "Managers' Meeting" tab and read what is there.  That is the Managers Meeting.  Yoiu can also click the "Locations" tab, scroll down to the listing for your assigned site, and then click the icon listed next to it for Google directions. The tournaments are set up as follows...

  • CLASS D
    • We currently have four teams
    • The schedule features a round robin format with each team playing the other, one time, for a three-game guarantee.  No additional games played,  It's a round robin, period
    • The team with the best overall record wins the tournament.  If two teams are tied it will come down to head-to-head competition

    • If three teams are tied it will come down to runs scored vs. runs allowed

    • Games will be played at Quincy Park

  •  CLASS E

    •  We currently have 16 teams

    • With this being Easter weekend and with field space at a premium it would be very difficult to get a double elimination tournament played in one day

    • The tournament is broken down break down into four pools of four teams, each.  The schedule is a round robin format for each pool with each team, per pool, playing the others, one time, for a three-game guarantee

    • The team with the best overall record wins their respective pool

    • If two teams are tied it will come down to head-to-head competition

    • If three teams are tied it will come down to runs scored vs. runs allowed

    • The four pool winners will advance to the semi-final round with the two winners playing for the tournament championship

    • This will allow us to get the tournament in at one site and in a more timely fashion. Plus, it guarantees all teams at least three games

    • Games will be played at Matt Urban Complex and at Quincy Park

    • There will be times where teams will be waiting to play their second/third game so please be mindful of that

  • CLASS F
    • We currently have four teams
    • The schedule features a round robin format with each team playing the other, one time, for a three-game guarantee.  No additional games played.  It's a round robin, period

    • The team with the best overall record wins the tournament.  If two teams are tied it will come down to head-to-head competition

    • If three teams are tied it will come down to runs scored vs. runs allowed

    • Games will be played at Helder Park

Holland Township/City of Holland Local Area Leagues



Holland Township and the City of Holland will collaborate for all leagues for the 2014 season with the hope of offering teams the best all-around softball option for this area.  Here are some program details...
  • Games will be played, primarily, at the Matt Urban Complex in the City of Holland with additional games to be scheduled at Helder Park in Holland Township
  • These leagues will be sanctioned as ASA for 2014.  This means our umpires will receive the best training available, our fields feature additional insurance, we will utilize ASA rules and regulations, and our teams are eligible for tournament play if they so desire.  It's all a part of your fee so no additional costs are added
  • A variety of Leagues will be offered including...
    • Men's & Women's Leagues on Monday Nights
    • Coed Leagues on Tuesday Mornings
    • Men's, Coed and 45 & Over Leagues on Tuesday Night
    • Men's Leagues on Wednesday Nights
    • Men's Leagues on Thursday Mornings 
    • Men's & Coed Leagues on Thursday Nights
    • Men's Leagues on Friday Nights
  • Registration Deadline is Friday, April 11, at 5pm.  Please register all local teams at the Holland Civic Center located at 150 W. 8th St. in Holland from 8am-5pm

Holland Township/City of Holland ASA Tournament Options



This season we will be offering a variety of Michigan ASA tournament options..  These options include the following...

  • April 19 - Men's Class C, D, E, & F Qualifiers
  •  May 17 - Men's Class C Qualifier
  •  June 14 - Women's & Coed Qualifiers
  •  July 19 - Coed State Championships, 50+ Men's State Championships, Men's 45+ Invitational
  •  August 9 - Men's C Regional & Women's 35 & Over Invitational
