Following up their 1-0, 8 inning victory on Tuesday, June 16th, the Alden Labs Athletics were crowned champions after a hard-fought 3-2 victory over the Toomey Drywall Dodgers - a game that came down to the last at bat.

The game featured another pitching duel by the Athletics Mike Baker and the Dodgers Jayson Dinoia.  Both teams displayed excellent defense throughout the game, timely hits by Nick Cardillo and Mike Baker produced enough offense to hold the Dodgers at bay, and Eric Saches came in for a 1 batter save to end the game.  The combination of great pitching, defense and timely hitting made for another great championship game that kept everyone on the edge of their seat.

Congratulations to both the Dodgers and the Athletics for their successful seasons, and to the Athletics for their well-deserved championship!!

Little League Majors is the highest level of Little League baseball.  Players who are 10, 11 or 12 prior to April 1 are eligible to play based on their performance at tryouts conducted in October of the prior year and well as player evaluations completed by their AAA or Junior Little League coaches.

At the Little League Majors level, all games are kid pitch, all games are played following Little League rules, and all games are called by a Holden Baseball umpire.  Standings are kept throughout the season and the top teams participate in a playoff at the conclusion of the season to determine the Little League Majors champion for the season.
