The Leominster Credit Union Rattlers defeated the Dick's Sporting Goods Jaxx in the deciding game of the JLL Championship on Sunday, June 21st, scoring in every inning. The Rattlers scoring attack was led by hitting stars Declan Macdonagh-Poh, Mark Grigas, Mitchell Cobb, Joe Lambert, Jacob Smith and Ruide Bu. Mike Lambert had 10 strikeuots in 4 innings and Ben Johnson closed out the game on the mound for the Rattlers. Liz Miles and Erik Bjorn paced the hitting attack for the Jaxx in a well played series displaying excellent sportsmanship by players and coaches on both sides.
Congratulations to both the Rattlers and the Jaxx!

Hit a Homer, Have a Hotdog!

This season, any player who hits an 'out of the park' home run at one of the Little League diamonds (Swenson A, Swenson B, or Davis Hill) will receive a free hot dog from the Holden Baseball Snack Shack courtesy of Toomey Drywall!
Congratulations to the following players who have hit home runs during the 2009 season:
Michael Lambert of the Rattlers hit a home run over the left-center field fence on Saturday, May 16th on the Swenson Memorial B Field
Matthew Russell of the Grasshoppers hit a home run over the left-center field fence on Saturday, April 25th on the Swenson Memorial B Field
Bennie Whipple of the Sea Dogs (2):
• A home run over the centerfield fence on Sunday, April 26th on the Swenson Memorial B Field.
• A home run over the centerfield fence on Sunday, May 24th on the Swenson Memorial B Field.
About Holden Baseball's Junior Little League
Junior Little League is the second level of Little League baseball. Players who are 9, 10 or 11 prior to April 1 are eligible to play based on their performance at tryouts conducted in October of the prior year and well as player evaluations completed by their AA or AAA league coaches.
At the Junior Little League level, all games are kid pitch, all games are played following Little League rules, and all games are called by a Holden Baseball umpire. Standings are kept throughout the season and teams participate in a double-elimination tournament at the conclusion of the season to determine the Junior Little League champion for the season.
