* With the recently announced changes in the Babe Ruth program, Holden Baseball has extended the Early Registration Discount Rate of $115, which expired on 10/31/09, through 1/31/10 for both Babe Ruth and Tivnan League players.
Holden Baseball Spring Leagues include Instructional League for pre-K players, Rookie League for players in Kindergarten, A for 1st Graders and AA for 2nd Graders as well as AAA, Junior Little League and Little League (or Little League Majors) for players who meet the Little League age requirements (between 9 and 12 as of April 30, 2010). In addition, Holden Baseball offers Babe Ruth for players between 13-15 years old, Wachusett Region Tivnan League for players between 16-18 years old, and Wachusett Region American Legion for players up to 19 years of age. Holden Baseball Program has recently filed for its own charter with Babe Ruth, Inc., meaning that major changes are in store for the 2010 season and beyond.
By filing for its own charter, Holden Babe Ruth will be forming its own in-town league for the 13- to 15-year old level. Previously Holden Babe Ruth participated in the Wachusett Babe Ruth league which involved a limited 12-game schedule, travel between towns and separate divisions for 13 and 14/15 year old players.
Under its new charter, Holden Babe Ruth will be forming a single in-town league comprised of 13- to 15-year old players playing together at the same level with up to a 20-game regular season schedule, followed by play-offs. Additionally, once the regular season is completed, separate 13-, 14- and 15-year old All Star teams will be selected for entry into District level tournaments with potential advancement to State, Regional and National Tournaments.
By forming the in-town league, Holden Baseball is hoping to take better advantage of in-town fields, make its Babe Ruth program more attractive and expand the program by keeping more kids involved in the program as the next natural step for graduating Little League players.
Registration is now open for the 2010 season, and can be done on line by visiting www.holdenbaseball.com or through the mail by downloading the registration form. Registration fees will increase as of 1/31/10, so take the time to register today.

Registration for the 2010 Tivnan League is now open. Players between the ages of 16 and 18 as of 4/30/2010 may register on-line here or can download the Player Registration forms and mail the completed forms, along with payment, to Holden Baseball Program, Inc., P.O. Box 117, Holden, MA 01520.
Players that register by 1/31/2010 will receive a discount, so register today!

Coaching and Volunteer applications for 2010 are available under Forms (to the left). All new and returning coaches must submit a Coaching application, a Volunteer application and a copy of a valid Driver's License or other photo ID.

The College of the Holy Cross Baseball Program will be conducting a free clinic for local coaches on Sunday, February 14, 2010, from 10am-12pm in the Holy Cross Fieldhouse. More information on this event will be available on the Holy Cross Athletics website (www.goholycross.com) in the coming weeks.
