Holden Baseball Program, Inc. is a non-profit corporation that operates baseball programs for players ages 5-19 who reside in the Town of Holden, Massachusetts. This site contains current news, information, schedules and forms.

   Holden 11-12 All Stars play for the State Championship and the right to advance to the New England Regional in Bristol, CT on Tuesday night at 6:00 PM vs. Barnstable in Beverly.

 Monday July 28th Sandlot is cancelled due to weather.

The 11-12 year old All Stars play at 4:00 PM at Beverly on Thursday, July 24th in the State Finals.

9-10 All Stars Recap

Friday July 11.

Holden 9-10 all star team traveled to Longmeadow Mass to play the Longmeadow all stars.  Holden lost 6-5 despite a strong rally in the 6th inning.  David Prosser and Colin Fitzgerald lead the team with two hits each.  Mitchell Bullett, Koli Johns, Adam Bates and Michael Cain combined on the mound.

Saturday July 12

Holden again played Longmeadow, at the Ted Williams Little League field in Worcester.  This time Holden won in a 5 inning mercy rule, 16-4.  Sean Verrier pitched 4 innings giving up 3 runs.  Adam Bates pitched the 5th inning to close it out.  Every Holden player contributed to the offensive attack.  Mia Cassella lead all hitters going 4-4 on the day.

Sunday July 13

In the deciding game, held at Holden's CRA Little League field, Longmeadow won 11-7 in 6 innings to win the Section 1 title.
Holden fought hard the entire game, but could not overcome a 5 run inning for Longmeadow.

Babe Ruth 15's Win Again!

Holden's 15 year old All Star team is now 5-0 after their thrilling win against Westfield today and the 15's play for the Babe Ruth Sectional Championship tomorrow at 2:00 at Vernon Hill in Worcester against Pittsfield.

Wachusett Wombats in District 4 Championship Starting July, 20

The Wachusett Wombats American Legion team, begins the District 4 championship series tonight at 7:00 in Milford, then play game 2 tomorrow at 5:00 at WRHS. Game 3, if necessary, would be at 7:00 pm at Milford on Tuesday. The state tournament starts on Saturday in Sudbury.

Babe Ruth All Stars Win Again!

Babe Ruth All Stars won again on Thursday 7-6 against West Side. That gives them 2 wins in their pool and assures them of moving on to the final 6 teams.

Next game is today, Saturday July 12th 5:00 at Schwartz.

Congratulations to the 11-12 Year Old District Champions!

The Holden 11-12 District All Star Team captured the District 4 Title on Friday defeating Jesse Burkett in a 20-0, 4 inning mercy.   Francis Ferguson pitched 3 shutout innings, with great defensive help from Kevin Skagerlind, who pitched the 4th and final inning.   Homeruns by Brian Carlson, Cody Smith and Francis Ferguson helped Holden cement the victory.  

Holden next plays on Wednesday, July 16th, at Holden CRA at 7PM against the Leominster National team who are the District 3 champs.

Holden 10-11 Team Wins District Four Championship!!!

 The Holden LL 10-11 all stars won the district 4 championship on Tuesday July 8 beating Jesse Burkett LL 9-7. Holden jumped out to a 6-0 lead in the second inning led by a bases clearing triple by Andy Gardner followed by a 2 run home run to center field by Andrew Hicks. Burkett battled back to score 4 unearned runs in the third inning off starter Luke Delongchamp but key plays by the defense and strikeouts of the 3 and 5 hitters by Delongchamp ended the threat with 2 runners left on. Burkett then tied the game at 6-6 with a walk and two singles in the 4th but Delongchamp ended the inning strong striking out 7 total in the game on 81 pitches. Holden then loaded the bases in the top of the 5th and scored a run after Noah Pins alertly stole home following a fly ball out to take the lead 7-6. Burkett tied the game 7-7 off reliever Andy Gardner in the bottom of the inning with a sacrifice fly to right field scored a runner from third. In the sixth, Jack Flynn lead off the inning with a double to right center and was lifted for a special pinch runner Ryan Anderson. Anderson advanced to third on a sacrifice fly by Andy Gardner and later scored on a single from Andrew Hicks. Hicks scored off singles by Noah Pins and Luke Feraco while Holden's defense held on to a 9-7 win in the bottom of the sixth. Key contributions were made at the plate and on the field by Matt Alzamora, Evan Appel, Jack O'Brien, Drew Caputi, and Trevor Xenos as well.

Holden will now move on to the Section 1 championship to be played in Western Mass District 1 beginning on July 16.

Tuesday, July 8
10-11 Year Old All Star update- Championship Game Tonight 7/8 at 5:30

Holden 10-11 All Stars lost 1-0 in a pitching duel with Jessie Burkett at Joe DiMaggio field Monday night. Holden pitching surrendered no walks and only 4 hits but a home run in the bottom of the fifth was the only score of the game. Leading the offense was Andy Gardner, Noah Pins, and Luke Delongchamp.

 

The deciding game for the district 4 championship will be Tuesday night at 5:30 at DiMaggio LL field.

9-10 Year Old All Star Update

Holden 9-10 all stars advanced to the championship game by defeating Jack Barry LL 16-0. Will Fiske, Mike Cain and Adam Bates combined to give up 2 hits over 5 innings while every player for Holden reached base in this game.
Next game will be for the District 4 title on Wednesday July 9 at 7:00pm in Paxton

10-11 District All Stars Update

June 28
Holden 10-11  all stars won 13-8 on Saturday against Jesse Burkett LL. Despite issuing 9 walks Holden was able to maintain the lead with solid defense down the stretch including a 5-3-2 double play to end a threat. Each player contributed on offense lead by 3 hits each for Noah Pins and Luke Feraco.

July 1
Holden 10-11 all stars advanced to the championship game by defeating Joe Schwartz LL 11-1. Noah Pins and Andy Gardner combined to give up 1 run and 7 hits over 6 innings while Luke Feraco and Matt Alzamora each had two hits and drove in 3 runs in the victory.
Next game will be for the District 4 title on Monday July 7 at 5:30pm




Monday, June 30
11-12 District Team Wins Again!

The Holden All Star Team defeated Schwartz 16-1 in a 4 inning mercy. Matt Verrier, Asa Floyd and Kevin Skagerlind (grand slam) all had HRs. Peter Field pitched 4 strong innings, spreading out only 5 hits over the 4 inning game, with 7 Ks. Holden next plays on July 11th for the District 4 Championship. The time and location of the game has yet to be determined.

9-10 All Stars Win Two

9-10 District All-Stars

June 28

The 9-10 district team opened their season with a 4 inning, 20-1 win over  Tom Ash Little league in Paxton.  Mitchell Bullett pitched the team to a stress free game.  Every member of the team contributed to the offense.

 

June 29

The 9-10 district team won their second game of the season over a very strong Sterling team, 12-4.  Sean Verrier pitched 5 innings of 2 run baseball, and hit a 3 run home run.  Adam Bates pitched strong in releif to secure the win.  This was again a full team effort both on defense as well as offense.  The team is now off from games until July 8, against Jack Barry Little League to be played in Paxton.



Sunday, June 29
Another win for 11-12 District All Stars

Holden defeated Paxton 16-0 in a 4 inning mercy. Francis Ferguson pitched a no-hit shutout, racking up 8 Ks and only allowing 2 runners to reach base. Offensive support come from strong, all around, team contributions and 2 HRs from Asa Floyd. 

Holden next plays on Sunday at 2 PM in Rutland against Schwartz.  



Thursday, June 26
Another Big Win for 11-12 All Stars

Holden defeated Ty Cobb 20-1 in a 4 inning mercy. Strong pitching from Peter Field, Kevin Skagerlind, and Cody Smith held Ty Cobb to one hit and one sole run. Offensive support come from strong, all around, team contributions and 2 HRs from Asa Floyd.

Holden plays at Jesse Burkett LL on Friday at 5:30 against Paxton.


Sunday, June 22
Big win for the 11-12 District team

The 11-12 Holden District All Star defeated Clinton 14-0 in a 4 Inning mercy. Francis Ferguson pitched 4 shut-out innings, allowing only 1 hit, and striking out 10 batters. Holden plays its next game on Wednesday, June 25th, at Ty Cobb field at 5:30PM against Ty Cobb Little League.
