Post 114 Milton Sr 6, Post 137 Holbrook Sr 5: Ryan Joyce was outstanding in the season opener loss (5 innings, 4 runs - 2 earned, 5 hits, 5 strikeouts, 1 walk). Ben Riordan pitched the 6th/7th inning in relief and did not give up a hit. Riordan shut Milton down in the 6th, but had trouble with his control in the 7th. Walks and a hit batter allowed Milton to tie, and then take the lead.
Cardinal Spellman 4, Whitman-Hanson 0: (posted May 22) Ryan Joyce had six strikeouts while allowing four hits for the Cardinals (8-10). Paul Bolduc had two hits and two runs. The Cardinals must win their next two matches to make the tournament.
Avon 17, Cape Cod Academy 1: (posted May 22) Brian Ulatowski hit a grand slam and had four hits for the Panthers (17-3, 12-1 Mayflower). Brian Graf threw five strikeouts and hit a home run, while Sean Manning had three hits.
Avon 7, Randolph 2: (posted May 21) Dan McQuarrie pitched a complete game, striking out nine, for the Avon Panthers (15-3). Zach Churchey logged a double, home run and four RBIs on the day for Avon.
Holbrook 4, Blue Hills 2: (posted May 21) Ben Riordan had seven strikeouts for Holbrook (8-8), which needs to win one of its final two games to clinch a postseason tournament berth. Nick Prisco went 5 innings, striking out 7, in the Blue Hill loss.
Avon 10, Norfolk Aggie 2: (posted May 17) Brian Graf pitched six innings, striking out six and allowing two hits for the Panthers (14-3, 11-2 Mayflower Small League). Zach Churchey had four hits.
Avon 15, South Shore Voke 6: (posted May 16) Zach Churchey and Brian Graf paced the offensive attack for Avon (13-3 overall, 10-2 Mayflower Small League) with three hits each.
Cardinal Spellman 4, Matignon 1: (posted May 14th) Joe Crane went 3-for-3 with two RBI for the Cardinals (7-8). Ryan Joyce pitched and earned his fourth win of the year.
Avon 3, Holbrook 1: (posted May 13th) Chris Mitchell allowed four hits in seven innings for the Panthers (12-3, 9-2 Mayflower). Sean Manning had a pair of hits in the win. Ben Riordan had 9 strikeouts for Holbrook, and drove in the only run.
Avon 12, Upper Cape Cod 11: (posted May 10th)
Avon Panther's Shane Davis went 4-for-5, getting the game winning RBI with a triple in Monday’s 12-11 against Upper Cape Cod.
Blue Hills 3, Sacred Heart 0 : (posted May 8th)
Nick Roache had his third consecutive shutout for the Blue Hill Reg Warriors (6-6). John Crowley was 2-for-4 with an RBI while Kevin Ramsey was 2-for-3 with an RBI.
Avon 4, West Bridgewater 0 : (posted May 8th)
Avon Panthers (11-3, 8-2) qualified for the postseason tournament as Chris Mitchell had 10 strikeouts and scattered two hits in seven innings. Zach Churchey and Ryan Ulatowski had two hits with an RBI for Ulatowski.
Holbrook 4, South Shore Voc Tech 0: (posted May 4) Chris Langley fashioned 11 strikeouts, scattered eight hits and issued
eight base on balls in the Bulldogs 4-0 victory over South Shore Voke on
May 3.
Dylan Edes led the hit parade, going 2 for 3 and knocking in two runs.
Freshman Alex Westgate also had a 2 for 3 day at the place and eighth-grader Seamus Galgay was 2 for 2
Avon 7, Holbrook 5: (posted May 01)
Chris Mitchell pitched 6-2/3 innings for Avon Panthers (9-3), striking out 11. Zach Churchey and Brian Ulatowski had two hits apiece. Holbrook's Ben Riordan had two-out home run, going 2-4. Riordan struck out 12 strikeouts, yielded 9 hits and walked two.
Teammate Chris Langley had a solid day at the plate, going 2 for 4, with two RBIs.
Blue Hills 2, Southeastern 0: (posted April 30th)
Nick Roche threw his second consecutive shutout to lead Blue Hills (4-4). David Neil had an RBI single that scored John Crowley, who had doubled, and Neil scored on an RBI single by Austin Carrel.
Holbrook 6, South Shore Voc 0: (posted April 27)
Ben Riordan allowed just one hit and struck out 12, and had a triple and two RBI, as Holbrook (4-2) posted a 6-0 victory over South Shore Voke.
Avon 12, Sacred Heart 1: (posted April 26th)
Chris Mitchell struck out 11 and was 3-for-3 at the plate for Avon Panthers (7-2). Brian Graf was 2-for-3 with a home run.
Avon 13, Norfolk Aggie 4: (posted April 25th)
Sean Manning went 3-for-4 with a double, home run and five RBI to power the Avon Panthers (6-2, 4-1) in the Mayflower League Small game. Zach Barry also went 3-for-4 for Avon.
Abington 2, Cardinal Spellman 1: (posted April 17)
Senior Pat Dwyer tossed a complete game to spark Abington to a win 2-1 over the Cardinals at Peter Ambrose Field.
The Cardinals broke through first, taking a one-run lead in the second inning.
Ryan Joyce drove in the only run for the Cards with a single to right.
Cardinal Spellam 7, Canton 1: (posted April 01)
Ryan Joyce, Brendan Cave and Kevin Fortin combined for five of their team’s 12 hits, five runs scored and two RBI as the Cardinals opened their season with a 7-1 non-league victory over Canton.
Joyce and Cave had singles with one out and Fortin tied the game at 1-1 when a single scored Joyce from third.
After a lead off walk in the 5th, Canton's Fitzgerald was doubled off base when Mullaney lofted a fly ball down the right field line when Joyce made a diving catch and threw to first to double up Fitzgerald.
When Canton loaded the bases in the sixth with two outs, Bresnahan brought in Joyce from right field. Joyce got the final out with a fly ball.
“Ryan Joyce had a great game,’’ Bresnahan said. “The play of the game was that diving catch in right field and turned the momentum toward us.’’
Avon 16, Old Colony 1: (posted April 01)
Brian Graf struck out nine while allowing three hits in seven innings for the Panthers (8-3, 5-2 Mayflower). Brian Ulatowski had three hits, including a three-run home run for Avon Panthers.
