2009 Season
It is once again time to get organized for the summer softball season. The Illinois ASA and the Heart of Illinois League (HOI) have joined forces to provide your team with a great chance to schedule games for the upcoming season and to qualify for the ASA Northern National Tournament if you finish first in your age group division. We are looking forward to another great year!
The HOI league is Central Illinois' largest girls youth softball league and was formed to help you and your team to enjoy youth softball. We are committed to assisting you in any way we can.
Check out this site to learn more about the league, when and where the meeting will be held, maps to find Chiddix Jr. High, playing fields of the teams in the HOI league and to download the Illinois ASA State Tournament entry form, and the HOI team registration form. Please bring these completed forms with you to the organizational meeting.
As was the case last year, each division's first place team will be awarded a direct berth to the ASA Northern National Tournament. The ASA Northern National tournament offers outstanding competition and an opportunity to win a berth in the 2010 USA/ASA National Tournament. You need to turn in your scores in order to be rewarded with this berth.
The organization meeting will be held Sunday, January 25th at Chiddix Junior High School in Normal. Directions to the meeting site can be found on the website. Doors will open for registration at 9:00 am and at 10:00 am we will begin the meeting.
We will have breakout sessions covering ACE coaching clinic (including mandatory background checks and ASA insurance), ASA rules and code changes, the new website www.illinoisasa.org and much more. We will begin the HOI portion of our meeting at noon, with team assignments and scheduling to begin at that time.
