About the Hogg Creek Soccer League:
The HCSL is located in the Lima area of northwest, Ohio and is a member of the Ohio North Youth Soccer Association North (OYSAN). The HCSL was established in 2005 by a group of coaches, parents and volunteers to provide a competitive venue for high school teams to compete in the summer. The HCSL originally began as a U-19 high school level girls league. Since that time, the league has expanded to include a U-19 high school level boys league (added in 2009) and a U-15 middle school level girls league (added in 2008).
The HCSL averages 800 players from 21 different communities making it one of the largest leagues in Ohio. The purpose of the HCSL is to promote the growth of soccer throughout the area, provide opportunities for players through advancing skills, knowledge of the game, team work and fair play. The HCSL endeavors to bring coaches, referees, players and parents closer together to promote and advance soccer all throughout northwest, Ohio.
In addition to league play, which runs from June 1st through approximately July 15th of each year, the HCSL provides a number of other opportunities for the league members. The HCSL hosts a one-day camp, where players in the league are taught by college, club and professional coaches. In addition, at the conclusion of the traditional fall high school season, the HCSL hosts a Senior Challenge game between the senior players from the teams that participated in the league that season. The league has also fielded a select team which has participated in indoor, league and tournament play.
