  Welcome

Welcome to The Hudson Mohawk District 7 Softball Website

The Hudson Mohawk District Traveling League has been in existence for over 10 years. The league is affiliated with and governed by the Amateur Softball Association (ASA). Currently, the league consists of 35 youth softball associations throughout 4 counties in and around the Capitol Region; Albany, Schenectady, Rensselaer & Saratoga, plus an organization from Vermont. Play is divided into 6 different age dvisions; 10-, 12-, 14-, 16-, 18-, and an Open Division.

This program helps develop interest, skills, desire and sportsmanship in a new generation of softball players - the ideals needed for these young ladies to excel individually and, ultimately, to ensure the continued growth of the sport. This Junior Olympic program emphasizes fun and an all-important feeling of belonging and being part of something worthwhile.

Look under "2009 Schedules" for this year's Hudson Mohawk Schedules!!!

For more information, go to our web site at CDSUA.org or contact Peg Squazzo at 283-3747.

* For 2009 ALL coaches MUST be certified by taking the ACE program that can be found on the national ASA website.  This is for teams going to tournaments.  Hudson Mohawk will also be doing background checks on all coaches and managers going to tournaments in 2009.  Any questions contact Frank Smith.

Become ACE Certified.

INDIVIDUAL REGISTRATION

Beginning in 2009, each Junior Olympic player participating in championship play must register using the individual registration process.    Championship play includes state, regional, national qualifier and national championships.  This will be done through RegisterASA.com.  Coaches will register all their players and themselves on this site.  When registering with RegisterASA.com you will receive two photo ID cards per player and coaches can opt for the mandatory background check here.  Additionally, your insurance coverage will be included in the registration fee.

The fee is $13 per player, $16 per coach without ACE certification and $28 with ACE Certification.

ACE CERTIFICATION

Oklahoma City, Ok. – Per the ASA Board of Directors policy, in order to participate in ASA Junior Olympic Championship Play beginning in the 2009 season, one coach in the dugout during championship play must be ACE certified.  New to the 2009 ACE Program, background checks will be provided through the on-line certification process beginning December 1, 2008 for the 2009 calendar year or at REGISTERASA.COM.  There will be no additional fees to conduct the background check.  The ACE (Achieve, Certify, Educate) Coaching Certification Program is the newest version of our certification program, developed and designed to provide softball coaches of all levels – from beginning coaches to experienced veterans – an opportunity to certify as a coach with a national softball organization
