Hillside Pop Warner: About Us
The Hillside “Lions” Pop Warner Football League was re-established in the Fall of 2004. We are the “only sanctioned” Pop Warner league in the township of Hillside.
We are a “Proud” Association of the North Jersey Pop Warner Football League Family of three years! Our program has doubled in size and currently accommodates participants between the ages of 5 through 13. We are also proud to have “Four National Scholar Athlete” Honorees in 2007 and “Three National Scholar Athlete” Candidates for 2008, one of which achieved a 100% GPA!
For the 2009 season, we are under "new leadership" and will be introducing "one new team", a “Cat” Flag Football team, which accommodates 5 and 6 year olds.
Hillside Pop Warner’s objectives are to inspire our youth, regardless of race, creed, religion or national origin, to practice the ideals of sportsmanship, scholarship and physical fitness as reflected in the life of the late Glenn Scobie “Pop” Warner. Hillside Pop Warner strives to make the game fun for all boys and girls. The program stresses learning lessons of value far beyond the playing or spirit days of those involved, such as; self-discipline, teamwork, concentration, friendship, leadership, and sportsmanship.
