SCHOLARSHIP INFORMATION
ELIGIBILITY: All current and former HYSC players, who will graduate from high school during the Spring of the application award year and who will attend college the following Fall of that year, are eligible to apply for the HYSC Scholarship. HYSC will select one or more winners from the pool of applicants. The scholarship winner(s) must stay in school at least for the first full academic year or they will forfeit their right to the scholarship.
PROGRAM DESCRIPTION: Scholarship(s) will be awarded based on the applicant's citizenship, school and outside activities, including volunteer and community service, as well as membership in the Highland Youth Soccer Club. Applicants will not be judged solely upon their soccer ability/achievements. HYSC wishes to identify and reward those high school senior soccer players who are also outstanding citizens.
APPLICATION: Candidates must fill out the HYSC Scholarship Application and submit it no later than May 1 of the application year. Applications will be posted on this website when they are available. Winner(s)will be announced and presented with their award at the May HYSC General Membership meeting. The names of the winning applicants will also be posted on our website.
SCHOLARSHIP: The number of scholarships given out each year will be at the discretion of the HYSC Executive Board based upon the quantity and quality of the applications and the financial resources of the Highland Youth Soccer Club. At least one scholarship will be awarded annually.
SCHOLARSHIP AMOUNT: The amount will be determined by the HYSC Executive Board. The total amount awarded will not exceed $1,000.
