REGISTRATION

Q. What are the costs to register a player with HYSC?

A. The cost to register a travel player is $100.00 and for an intramural player it is $80.00. For each additional child in a family that is registered to play, there is a $15 discount. There is an additional nonrefundable fee for online credit card registrations.

Q. How can I register my child to play for HYSC?

A. You can use the Online Registration form and pay by credit card. Or you can download and complete the Registration form under Registration tab and give it, along with the registration fee, to your team coach or mail it to HYSC Registration, PO Box 129, Blackwood, NJ 08012.

Q. What is the refund policy?

A. If a player is placed on a team and then chooses not to play for any reason, there will be a $25.00 administration and equipment charge, and the remaining registration fee will be returned up until the second week of the season. All uniforms must be returned to the Club prior to receipt of the refund. Additional fees charged for online registration are nonrefundable.

INTRAMURALS

Q. How are players assigned to intramural teams?

A. The Intramural Commissioner assigns all intramural players. Preference is given to players who played on a team in an earlier season to return to that season. Preferences will be accommodated where possible. Players are assigned according to their age. Registration does not guarantee every player a place on a team.

Q. What age groups play at the intramural level?

A. HYSC has intramural divisions for U5, U6, and for combined U7/U8 teams. Additional divisions may be possible depending on the number of players registering at a particular age group.

Q. When and where are intramural games played?

A. For the last couple of seasons, intramural games have been played on Sundays, with starting times between 12:30pm and 4:00pm, at the Gloucester Township Community Park.

TRAVEL

Q. What age groups play travel soccer?

A. HYSC fields teams U8 and above. U8 players are players that are not yet 8 years old on July 31st of the year that the team is first eligible to play travel soccer.

Q. How long can my child continue to play travel soccer at HYSC?
A. Players can continue to play travel soccer as long as we have enough players interested to field a team. Currently the girls have a team at the U18 age level and the boys have a U17 team.

Q. Where are our home games played?

A. Generally speaking, home games are played at Gloucester Township Community Park. Older girls travel teams occasionally play at Highland High School.

Q. If my child plays travel soccer, how often and how far will we have to travel for games?

A. Generally speaking, teams play 5 games at home and 5 games away. The distance that you travel depends on the league in which your team plays. Teams playing in the Gloucester County Soccer League play against teams located within Gloucester County. Teams playing in the South Jersey Soccer League can play as far north as Princeton, as far south as Cape May and as far east as teams along the shore, such as Ocean City.

Q. How do I know what team my child will play on?

A. Typically in the May to June time frame, HYSC holds travel tryouts to determine where players will be placed. Selections are made by the team head coaches. A committee generally selects the U8 teams. The U9 through U12 teams are ranked and are selected to play for A, B and C ranked teams. U13 and above players try out for the team that they wish to play for.

Q. Is the Club responsible to pay the fines incurred by players, coaches or spectators associated with the Club?

A. No. The payment of all fines is the responsibility of the party who was fined. Ref. Bylaws Sec. 14.15.
